POLL: Which Stan Lee/Steve Ditko Villain Would You Like To See In The Amazing Spider-Man 2?

While the past few decades have seen the creation of such classic Spider-Man villains as Venom, Carnage and Morlun, there can be no doubting the fact that the real classics were brought to life in the 1960's by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. With The Amazing Spider-Man bringing the Lizard to the big screen for the first time, most fans are hoping to see more of the duos characters introduced in the recently announced sequel. Although Sam Raimi's trilogy gave us Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus and Sandman, there is nothing stopping new director using them again...especially as the portrayal of them in the past was vastly different to the originals in many respects. Regardless, here is your chance to vote for which of the villains you most want to see next. I've included as many as I could think of, but if I've forgotten a few of the more obscure ones, let me know below and I'll add 'em to the poll!

Chameleon

Doctor Octopus

Electro

Green Goblin

Kraven The Hunter

Molten Man

Mysterio

Sandman

Scorpion

Spider-Slayers

Vulture

STARRING:

Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man
Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy

Martin Sheen as Uncle Ben

Mysterio. I've wanted fishbowl in a Spidey-flick since 2001.

Electro. Now that would be one powerful villain, and it would be cool to see on screen. I just hope they keep the suit in one form or another.

I don't really care as long as it is not a villain that we have already seen before. I don't want anyone embarrassing themselves trying to top Willem Dafoe and Alfred Molina as Gobby and Ock. You forgot Hobgoblin and Morbius those are two villains that I'd love to see. How about Morbius and Kraven.

Kraven comes to NYC to find Spider-Man but then him and Spidey team up to fight Morbius.

The only ones I can see working are Scorpion, Kraven, Electro, Mysterio, and Vulture. The other ones just seem too fake. I'd like Mysterio after playing Spidey 2 on the PS2. Those levels were awesome. They need to do it right though.

Tell you the truth I would love to have Mysterio be the villain, but to think realistically and storywise....JJJ is gonna HAVE to show up in the sequel (Peter needs a job) and with all this Spidey business he's gonna have to take matters into his own hands. So Spider Slayers and Scorpion, JJ will realize we need an actual person not a robot so he takes up Scorpion.

green goblin done correctly would be amazing, unlike the power ranger iron man looking villain we got in spider-man.

I'll go for Green Goblin, maybe Shocker/Scorpion as a side villain.
Doc Ock and Vulture for the third film.

Like I said- Mysterio. If not him, my second choice was always Vulture...the villain that 'could have' been in Spidey3.

If not either of those then i agree with marvel72- my main complaint to my friends were always that GG in Spidey1 reminded me of the power rangers when i first saw the damn movie. I wanted to see the goblin from the comics i grew up with.

i've always wondered why electro's look has like never been updated, it looks absolutely ridiculous XD

@Dynamo. I totally agree dude. Unlike Maguire who didn't illustrate one ounce of brains when fighting his enemies, Garfield will deliver. Electro would be awesome to see battle the web-slinger. I'm hoping for Venom to be done right at some point but after S3, I won't hold my breath. Wouldn't mind Sandman either. Goblin is a MUST in the third film if this trilogy is to go out with a bang.

Obtw Josh, the Amazing Spider-Man sequel's set for May 2nd, not May 4th.

Electro or Mysterio.

if pulled out well, and with present days capabilities of VFX and 3D with a strong story, Mysterio can be the most epic villain ever to come on screen.its like Spider-mam meets Inception.
Though I think someone with IQ 180 can pull off such a script and direction.
Imagine Mysterio not only playing with spidey's temple but the audience as well!!!! chilling...

I would like spiderman try to fight someone in the beggining of the film when he tries to get to graduation like shocker then have green goblin as main villan and death of the stacys
Moonwalker1991
Moonwalker1991 - 8/7/2011, 12:33 PM
@PaulRom. Dude, the Vulture sucks. He's not worthy of film. An old guy with wings, ooh yeah he's real menacing. Please.
Spidey91
Spidey91 - 8/7/2011, 12:33 PM
I wouldn't mind another take on the Green Goblin.
outside that,Electro as my first choice,Mysterio in second and Scorpion in third.
Deadshot
Deadshot - 8/7/2011, 12:35 PM
Mysterio all the way we need a unique comicbook villain that we haven't seen before. They could base the whole story around Spider-man trying to get back his reputation after Mysterio commits robberies as a spider-man illusion.
Galaxy

i would go with Mysterio. He's an awesome villain.

I think Green Goblin should be built up until the third movie. The second movie should feature both Mysterio and Scorpion.

I think it would be a great way to introduce JJJ as well. The way I picture it, JJJ gets the Scorpion to get rid of Spider-Man, but he fails. Then later we'll see Mysterio offer his hand in getting rid of Parker and he becomes the main threat. I think Scorpion could be just a short lived villan.

the amazing spider-man - lizard

the spectacular spider-man - green goblin

web of spider-man - venom & carnage or the sinister six

@Moonwalker Yeah, but I think he can be film worthy if done right. I like the Spectacular Spider-Man version best.

Well, I have a feeling they're going to pull a "Batman Begins" and end TASM by setting up Green Goblin for part 2.

But... I've been waiting since Spider-Man 2 to see Scorpion on screen.

Really, I have no doubt they'll use the Green Goblin in a sequel, given Oscorp's presence in TASM.

But I want to see Mysterio, I'm surprised that many agree.

If i wanted to see Green Goblin, New Goblin, Venom, Sandman or Doc Oc... Id go see Sam Raimi's version

Do a Chris Nolan and let us see someone different that could bring a darker tone to the new series... like Flash Thompson as Hydro Man*! They are both in High School, he and Peter, which will also introduce the new kid, Harry Osborne...

*I know he's not hydro man from the comics but dag, let's have a high school showdown
