Roger Ebert shares his opinion of The Amazing Spider-Man and gives it 3.5/4 stars! This is great news for fans of The Amazing Spider-Man because Roger Ebert is arguably the most popular movie critic out there and this will surely help the Andrew Garfield incarnation of Spider-Man become more accepted in the public's eye. Here is a synopsis of what he thought. Hit the link if you would like to view his whole review.

We live in an age of speed-up, which may explain why the "Spider-Man" franchise feels the need for a reboot only 10 years after its first film, and five years after the most recent one. In its broad strokes, "The Amazing Spider-Man" is a remake of Sam Raimi's "Spider-Man" (2002), but it's not the broad strokes we care about. This is a more thoughtful film, and its action scenes are easier to follow in space and time. If we didn't really need to be told Spidey's origin story again, at least it's done with more detail and provides better reasons for why Peter Parker throws himself into his superhero role.

Dennis Leary appeared on The Letterman Show where it was revealed that David Letterman also loved the movie! Skip to 5:10 if you want to save some time.

The Amazing Spider-Man stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Denis Leary, Rhys Ifans, Martin Sheen, and Sally Field; the film swings into theatres July 3rd.

I can't even hear anybody's opinion on the movie for the sake of not being spoiled about what happens in the movie.

How are we going to top a year when TDKR, Avengers and TASM comes out and we argue over whats going to be better.

People like jay Leno or Letterman say they like every movie. The are in the business and you can't trust their pandering opinions or statements.

The only opinion that matters to me is, uh, well, my girlfriend's actually. That is, if I want to stay off the couch. She says that this movie will be great and since she has the boobs and vagina, who am I to argue?

I'm looking forward to it. At the first, I was not happy with the costume, but it looks much better in the finished version.

Can't wait for the movie, but I'm pretty sure Letterman is supposed to say he liked the movie. Otherwise it'd be stupid to have Leary as a guest, no?

Big Worm has been reduced to Internet advertising. See kids, just say no to Jerry Curls... I loved the interview, and as much as I HATED the costume originally (Still not a fan) I've learned to accept it so far. But God Almighty if they screw up the symbiote. There will be blood...

@Jollem He does consider them an art form actually. It might be hard to believe, but Ebert has read comics before and enjoyed them. It's a reason why he doesn't ever bash a good comic book adaptation for being based on a comic book.

Looks pretty cool, I'm still totally going to see it, but there's no way on Earth it beats the awesome that was Spider-Man 2. That damn thing was a comic come to life.

I hope the movie is good. I really do.

I just don't like the suit still. Hey, I LOVED the Avengers, but wish they stayed with his suit from the Cap movie.

and here's a thought: why not let Peter get older.... there's so many stories to tell with him maturing, and getting stronger and better with his powers. Why keep rehashing his high school years? I just freakin hope Hollywood allows him to grow up. Become a man.

Stop with the reboots now.

I was going to see this anyway, but now I'm a little more excited.

LOL at people who comment on articles just to tell you they didn't read it and don't care. If you have so much time to waste, write your own article on something you do care about.

Well, this is good. Over the years, I found myself agreeing with Ebert most of the time. Let's see if that's the case here. July 3, folks....

CrowPirate: "Why keep rehashing his high school years? I just freakin hope Hollywood allows him to grow up. Become a man"

Considering this is the first time it's being rebooted, and it's a different chapter in his story, I don't know exactly how this is on the same line as being constantly rehashed. The first movie BARELY had him in high school too if I recall.

If he likes it, its a great film. Simple

His Avengers one wasn't the best.
