Sony Pictures Chief Hints At New SPIDER-MAN Spin-Offs Featuring "Heroes And Villains"

Sony Pictures Entertainment Co-Chairman Amy Pascal has revealed today that the studio are indeed planning on further taking advantage of their Spider-Man franchise by planning a number of spin-offs featuring a variety of characters from that corner of the Marvel Universe! Read on for details.

According to The Wrap, Sony Pictures Entertainment Co-Chairman Amy Pascal has today hinted that the studio are planning a number of spin-offs featuring various supporting characters from their Spider-Man franchise. "We are going to access Marvel’s full world of Spider-Man characters, so be on the lookout for new heroes and villains," Pascal teased during a presentation to investors earlier today. It's hard to imagine who these could be, although Venom has obviously been mentioned more than once in the past. Black Cat also seems like a possibility, as do the likes of Cloak and Dagger and Scarlet Spider. What do you guys think? Sound off below!

Well that's one way to hold the rights. I say Cloak and Dagger definitely, Black Cat, maybe Flash Thompson Venom? Doubtful but would be cool.

I want an All-Spider team-book; Superior Spider-Man (Doc Ock), Scarlet Spider (Kaine), Venom (Flash Thompson), Ultimate Spider-Man (Miles Morales), and bring back the OG Peter Parker Spider-Man. BOOM.

Same thing needs to happen at DC with Batman; give me a team book of Batman, Nightwing, Robin (bring back Damian), Red Robin, Red Hood, Batwing, Batgirl, maybe even Talon?

..for me it looks like every Studio (with comic book rights) trying to build their own "Universe" ...

In case they do it now with Spidy.. if the rights go back to Marvel Studios(around 2018 i think there was mantion something)..we start from the beginning again ;) yay -.-

..as long they dont bring some of the "clone - saga" stuff i can deal with that.

I actually think Jessica Drew (Spider-Women) is at Marvel. She is rarely associated with SM in the comics.

ASM was good enough, and they seem to have a tangible plan and not making it up as they go along like Fox..im excited.

My biggest curiosity is Kingpin.With Marvel doing DD at Netflix, who can use Fisk? Does Sony ONLY have kingpin right on big screen leading to Marvel doing him on TV? Maybe collaboration? No idea...Im hoping for collaboration.

Well Venom is the only one that truely deserve his own movie. A Spiderman 2099 will just confuse the GA. Black Cat...aah sure why not, though the GA will see her as nothing more then a Catwoman clone. Scarlet Spiderman, yeah I can see it, but don't Sony have to do the whole Clone Saga in order to get the backgrounds of Ben and/or Kaine? Aren't Cloak & Dagger and Spiderwoman at Marvel Studios or are they a 'Grey Area'? I will like to see a Miles Morales/Ultimate Spiderman movie, but the question is, does Miles even elong with Sony since Marvel made him way after the movie rights? Anyways, it'll probably end up confusing the GA even more. Sony should just make a deal with Marvel so they can use Spidey, in

why?? why is everyone trying to copy marvel and not harry potter? 1 movie a year, same main character all different stories building up to one. way better than marvel and im a marvelite.

Carnage is dogshit.
He dilutes the coolness of Venom.
I can't stand when good characters keep getting crappy variations based off them.
Daken,son of Wolverine is another prime example of a terrible knock off.

I want a movie version of Kravens Last Hunt,it would be dark & exciting.

In turn, Sony can use characters like Daredevil or other characters more closely associated with Spiderman. Plus, I heard Sony is looking to shed 100 million+ from its entertainment brand so why not make a deal with Disney. (C'mon Sony...you know you want too).

I really think Spider-Man should remain in Sony's hands and not go back to Marvel... its such an iconic and beloved character that Sony's already done so well in bringing to life (twice!), there's no reason to get back with Marvel unless you want to include him in the Avengers (which isn't necessary).

I like that Spider-Man has an entire studio working behind it. I just wish the Fantastic Four was in Sony's hands too.
