Stan Lee Defends The Amazing Spider-Man From The Haters!

After being attacked for his positive comments about the upcoming Spider-Man reboot, the legendary comic book creator took to his Twitter account to defend the movie! Check it out...

When it was first announced, the reaction to the rebooting of the Spider-Man franchise was met with a fair bit of backlash from fans worried Sony were going all Twilight with the iconic Marvel character. Well, despite some differing opinions towards the recently revealed costume, the impressive cast and promise of the Lizard has put the movie in a far more positive light. With some fans anyway...

'Nuff said, eh?

With an all star cast that includes Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Denis Leary as Captain George Stacy, Rhys Ifans as Curt Connors, Martin Sheen as Uncle Ben and Sally Field as Aunt May, The Amazing Spider-Man is set to be released in 3D on July 3, 2012!

yeah what haters are still around. I think people here are generally pleased with the direction this reboot seems to be going. Rather than being silly and bad as the Raimi movies were, they are making it more faithful...also with no MJ so theres no love triangle....which means NO TWILIGHT!!!!

Does he even have a First Class cameo? He didn't have one in origins at least not to my knowledge

All due respect, Lee is no different than Bob Kane... both of them a couple of hypocrites always defending whatever is out there regardless quality.
Bob Kane used to jump with every Batman movie and say: "That's just how I imagined Batman to be" .. starting with Tim Burton's 89 classic and up untill Schumacher's dreadful Batman & Robin. And I'm betting he'd have said the same with Nolan's movies too.
One thing Lee has over Kane, as far as I know, is that he never took credit for all the creation process of the characters unlike what Kane did when he denied Bill Finger his right.

This movie is looking great! I mean I can understand if you don't like the suit, but that doesn't mean the movie will suck! Personally, I like most of the features of the new suit. I'm sure they know what they're doing giving him a professionally-made suit and that it will be explained in the movie. Possibly like in Ultimate Spider-Man where the basic suit is given to him when he's wrestling at the beginning.

Screw the haters!!! You're an idiot if you say this movie will suck! And especially if you say "This movie is terrible"! It's not even anywhere near finished. How could you know?!

MovieTheaterLad: I know Stan Less does cameos in movies starring his characters, but I mean he didn't 'create' Captain America (more like re-created him) and he has a cameo in that.

Well he did create some of the characters in First Class, so he should be in there

Because you have seen the entire movie already, right?

sigh.

@MoumentheBatman: Don't you think it's enough to see the characters they created on the big screen. They're happy for their creation's success. I don't see what makes you credited enough to bash their appreciation. Their are most definitly elements from the live-action movies that they thought were identical to their imagination. So back off. After all they gave us great characters and one of them is dead and the other is in his mid '80s.

Love the term "hater". I'm not a hater. I'm just not interested in watching another origin/teeny spidey story. Not for me.

@TheThreeBigTacoes & MovieTheaterLad: Stan re-created Captain america, and he is the reason that character is still existing in the comics today. Also he should be in First Class because he created Proffessor X, Magneto, and the Beast and those seem to be the three biggest protagonist in the First Class movie. He got a cameo in all three of the orginal X-men movies, but some of the most important characters in those movies were Wolverine and Rogue although he didn't create them.

STAN THE MAN. When he says something everyone must agree on his opinions :)

But I just wish that they could do a cameo of MJ in the reboot. I cross my fingers and hope that this will be true

He'll defend anything done by Marvel. He's rich and his characters are making him money so he's probably like "as long as they're gonna rake in the dough, do whatever you want with them". He probably loved Spider-Man 3 as well.

@skullboy: There's nothing wrong with liking Spider-man 3. I like it. I'm just not a big Venom fan at all, and I clearly see he was singing and dancing to impress a girl.

Stan Lee is the [frick]ing man. Meeting him and talking to him in person is one of my dreams. The guy's a real iconic down to earth man. Haters can hate all they want about The Amazing Spiderman. From the first moment of hearing the news about reboot till now, everything i've heard about on CBM and seen the set photos have been great and the casting couldn't be any better (if you still think Logan Lerman should've been PP, go f*ck yourself and burn in hell). Stan has very high hopes for this movie and so do I

Ryguy88 - 4/16/2011, 10:29 AM
Why does every description of a movie start with "with an all-star cast of..."? I like the cast and all but Dennis Leary is probably the biggest name there. Andrew Garfield's a great actor, but he's not an "all-star" yet.

i love stan , but he loves everything ..such as sm3

so by him giving a positive spin on this reboot doesn't convince me or surprise me.

the suit is this movies biggest problem sofar , and to those saying its more close to the comics you haven't seen it yet . shit suit is a shit suit :/
