for those of you who may have missed them.

Like I said, I only have a few more left. But these are a few things I think people might have missed while watching "The Amazing Spider-Man."

All three Raimi films have an American flag splashed on screen as a tribute to the 9/11 attacks and because Spider-Man is an American hero. Most people think Webb dropped this homage. That isn't true, he just toned it down. Remember the scene with all the crane operators? The scene where the father of the child Spider-Man saves says "Hey Kowalski, you're getting over time!" Right after that line the camera moves up to a shot of a big American flag on a building. Most people missed this, but it was obviously in keeping with a tradition Raimi started. I for one love the homage and hope we get it again in the sequel.

Peter gets himself into a fight in an alley-way while asking some guy when was the last time he was in Queens. After beating the guy up for a few seconds a bunch of the guys buddies run into the alley to give their friend a hand. At this point Peter looks up and runs away from the group of guys. Most people didn't understand this scene seeing as how Peter could beat up all five guys no problem. He did after all beat up an entire group of armed New York City SWAT officers without breaking a sweat. So why did he run away from five back alley punks? Because he didn't want to reveal he had superpowers, nor was he trying to make the news that night. We know this from the fact Peter runs away and does some minor flips here and there. When all he needed to do was take a giant 30 foot leap and make it to the roof. But they had all seen his face and every one of those guys would have called the news to report the fact they just saw a man jump 30 feet into the air after being assaulted by him. Which is also why he climbed the side of the building without sticking to it when all five guys could still see him. But the moment Peter was out of view, he sticks to the wall. He even looks down to make sure they cannot see him before he makes the jump and sticks to the other building. He was being very careful not to show that he had superpowers. That is why he ran. If he had stayed and beat up all five guys, he would be all over the news as some kind of superhuman that five guys could give a discription of what he looked like to the police and media. The way Peter played it out was some parkour kid punched a back alley pimp that was smacking around some poor woman. That doesn't make the news.

That last one was pretty lengthy, which is why I saved it for last. Thanks for reading. I hope you guys enjoyed these write-ups! Here's looking forward to the next Spidey film. I'll be back to make sure you guys don't miss a thing.

That actually makes sense. I always thought that it was weird that he didn't fight them off.

Did any one else notice how his Spider-Sense disappeared after he donned the costume?

I wish we got a American flag behind Spidey, it would've been awesome

Good finds. However, they still don't improve the movie

Raimi's movies worked with Cheese on purpose. Spiderman's early comics were really cheesy at times, it was a reference to the golden age of comics. Andrew looked way too good to be loser outcast Peter Parker. If that weren't enough, he skateboarded and used slang all the time. Therefore I did not see him as a loser and the movie lost the element which made me relate to Peter Parker in the comics and in the original movies. I wasn't asking for a sweater vest. Simply an actor who isn't such a chick magnet . Maybe an average guy? Plus Peter behaved selfish from minute one. By the end of the movie, there was no change in hus character. Peter never really suffered in this movie. He got the girl with no problem. He revealed his SECRET after a few weeks of dating her (FOR NO REAL REASON) and he broke her dad's dying promise to stay away from her. I was bored of the relationship which never suffered. Peter acted self invloved throughout the entire film. Whether they fix this stuff in the sequel or not, it won't improve THIS movie.

Aside from a more humorous spidey, dating Gwen first and webshooters ( small differences.from the old movies of which none are important to the plot progressing), how was it more accurate?

The first movie made its message of responsibility clear to the audience in one movie like Amazing Fantasy #15 did in one issue. This sequels moved on to other messages about sacrifice and determinism. This reboot is taking at least two movies to get the basic message out of the way.

Plus that crane swinging scene was cheesier then anything in the old movies, the entire movie was too gritty for a Spidey origin story.

I said that Crane scene was cheesy only. The movie was trying to keep a serious realistic tone, that scene felt too lame. Umm, that ending line, a long with set pics from ASM 2 show them together smiling and dating. So yeah, he broke it.

Yes Peter Parker was selfish. Then this happened:

Ring a bell? Fact is I grew up reading Spider man comics my whole life. I watched every show, played every game and read comic books all day. I have a very good understanding of the character. Hence I found flaws in both performances in the movies. However, Tobey was much closer to selfless, responsible, nerdy teenager Peter Parker. He looked like someone who would be an outcast. He took responsibility for his uncle's death and used it to fight crime. He acted selfish as shown in Spider Man 2 but he redeemed himself. All these traits always stood out in the comic books.

Hmm, about as cheesy as Emo Parker and slightly more than Goblin's suit. Plus the old trilogy was cheesy on purpose since Spidey is kind of a cheesy character. This movie was going for realism so it had no excuse to be cheesy.
