SUICIDE SQUAD KILL THE JUSTICE LEAGUE Has Officially Been Delayed...And It's Now Coming Spring 2023

There had been rumblings this might happen, but Rocksteady Games has now confirmed that Suicide Squad Kill The Justice League has been pushed back to next Spring. Find more details right here...

After it was announced during DC FanDome in August 2020, we always knew there would be a bit of a wait for Suicide Squad Kill The Justice League. However, with a 2022 debut promised by the team behind the Batman: Arkham franchise, fans have been wondering for a while now why Rocksteady Games has kept quiet about a specific release date.

Well, now we know. As you can see in the Tweet below (via GameFragger.com), the developer's founder, Sefton Hill, has confirmed that the game has been pushed back to 2023.

"We've made the difficult decision to delay Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League to Spring 2023," he explains. "I know a delay is frustrating but that time is going into making the best game we can. I look forward to bringing the chaos to Metropolis together. Thanks for your patience."

This is disappointing, but also just one of those things with titles as complex and highly anticipated as this one. While we'll now be waiting a little longer to play as Harley Quinn, King Shark, Captain Boomerang, and Deadshot as they team up to fight the Justice League, we'd rather that than the game be released in 2022 and end up a complete Cyberpunk 2077-style disaster.

"The creators of the Arkham series are back with a brand new action-adventure shooter," reads the synopsis. "The most dangerous villains in the DC Universe have been forced to team up and take on a new mission: Kill the Justice League. Create Chaos in Metropolis. You are the Suicide Squad."

None of us should be surprised. What video game ever makes it’s release date?

@WruceBayne - Guardians of the Galaxy did. They announced it in August, and released it in October. I had never seen such swiftness between announcement and release, and the game was super fun !

@OrgasmicPotatoe - Nintendo did the same with Metroid Dread too. Announced in June and dropped in October. I much prefer when games do that instead of announcing that it’s in development for over a year or so before it releases only to get delayed and delayed smh

@WruceBayne - In pandemic times? none.
Not at least without crunch.

Figures. A lot of AAA games lately either suffer from crunch or delays (sometimes both) so this tracks. But I wonder if that means the heads of the DC games are putting a lot more stock into Gotham Knights since that just got confirmed for a 2022 release the other day.

Also, is anyone else overwhelmed by the amount of games that’s been released lately? I feel like Elden Ring has set my backlog back for a good few months with how invested I’ve been in it.

@NightBoyWonder - I agree. Guardians is on game pass and I haven't gotten to it yet. It's downloaded at least

That’s fine. There are still tons of games. We don’t want another Cyberpunk or Halo Infinite (should have been postponed until next year with the missing features).

@THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - They've been implying that the Arkham City Deadshot is a Floyd Lawton identity thief. But they should've just said that they wanted to redesign him since that excuse is a little lousy to me.

@THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - This can be easily fixed by saying it exists in its own continuity. It's pointless for it to be set in the Arkhamverse anyway. Plus, if you count Batman: Assault on Arkham as canon, it makes things even stranger.

Game looks [frick]ing terrible, glad they are taking an extra year to make it better.

Btw, anything of what they announced at DC Fandome in 2020 is coming out on its original release date?

If it means we avoid a glitched out, clearly not finished game like the CyberPunk or GTA Trilogy.
