New SUICIDE SQUAD Photos Show Off Cut Scene Of The Joker's Scarred Face From Oscar Winning Movie

Reshoots meant we never got to see The Joker confront Task Force X, but a display for Suicide Squad's "Best Makeup and Hairstyling" nod at the Oscars has revealed a brand new look at that and much more.

Ahead of Suicide Squad's big win for "Best Makeup and Hairstyling" at the Oscars last night, a display was put up the day before which showed off all the nominees. The photos below (rounded up by Batman-News) offer up a very interesting look at the work which went into the movie, but the fact that The Joker's scarred face is included is particularly noteworthy.

Based on what we know (and can guess from the trailers and rumours), The Joker was supposed to confront Task Force X at the end of the movie after Harley Quinn rejected his advances. Once it became clear that she wouldn't leave with him, he would have made his escape after dropping some smoke grenades, leaving the scarred Prince of Crime's fate up in the air.

However, in a bid to make Suicide Squad less dark than Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, The Joker and Harley received a far more conventional love story. Chances are we'll never get to see that scene featuring the confrontation as it remains on the cutting room floor at Warner Bros.

@Menks123 - YES

Keep it grounded.

Thats what Ayer is perfect for.

So we would should expect skull tattoos, gold chains, rings, skull cap, etc?

@NoMeaning45 - Yeah, i'm such a fan of his and think he's a great director.....just something went wrong with both him writing a script in weeks and the clear studio interference. Really hopes he redeems himself even though I feel the Sirens movie is too early to do.

@Menks123 - Black Mask would be cool. I hope they go with the look from All Star Batman so he doesn't look like Red Skull that stayed in the tanning bed too long.

@Nightmare - God I hope not. Just an awful choice and thought process with that.

@Menks123 - He was in over his head.

He tried to do things he knew he wasn't good at.

This looks to be more suited towards him.

@blackandyellow - His look from All-Star Batman is just a mask over his Black Skull face. It was revealed in Red Hood and the Outlaws that he looks like his original self under that mask.

@Kr08 - Is that book any good?

@blackandyellow - Dear God, I [frick]ing hate John Romita Jr!, why the hell does DC AND Marvel insist on considering him as a legend of sorts?

His dad on the other hand... (specially his Spider-Man was [frick]ing awesome!)

@Owlman88 - I don't mind him. Mike Allred, Javier Pulido, and Tim Sale are the artists I can't stomach.

Every time Joker was on screen I was hoping someone would shoot him point blank in the face. Not because I hate the Joker, but he was so terribly written and acted. Idk if it's him, Enchantress & her Gods of Egypt CGI brother, or Lex for the worst villains of 2016.

I still don't quite see how this won over Star Trek Beyond.

I still really want Leto to come back.

I didn't dislike him.

Just remove the damaged tattoo, give him a better script and I'm good.

I actually like his look, its just the forehead tattoo.

And he's been teasing Joker on his snapchat, so he's probably coming back

@NoMeaning45 - I was thinking maybe he could take another acid plunge and it would strip away the tattoos... but then I remembered he did that in Suicide Squad (with Harley) and it had no effect.
Scarilian
Scarilian - 2/28/2017, 12:51 PM
@NoMeaning45 -

I think they intentionally nerfed him at one point so that he would not distract from the other characters or overshadow the main villain.
NoMeaning45
NoMeaning45 - 2/28/2017, 1:03 PM
@Scarilian - I would be fine with that, if the main villain was actually good...

@NoMeaning45 -

Yeah, its a shame they messed up Enchantress. Some of what she did at the start was creepy, such as her transformation (the hand thing was cool) and the weird flashbacks to them discovering her in the bath.

@NoMeaning45 - shame the explosion didn't rub his tattoo off eh? could we see it in the last scene with his helmet on? #continuity.

NoMeaning45 - 2/28/2017, 3:13 PM
@toylled - No clue, but I have no doubt that Leto, Affleck and Reeves will probably retcon his look.

Jared Leto's joker had so much potential. But thanks to the atrocious dialogue and editing, and design, all the potential was lost
Nightmare
Nightmare - 2/27/2017, 4:07 PM
@stephhurry - Don't forget the script and direction being terrible.

Leto can crush this. Ayer was to preoccupied with the military op details and tattoos to care about the intricacies of major characters like him.

That kind of green for Joker's hair looks really vibrant. Contrasts with his bleached skin very nicely.
