Milly Alcock Debuts Her SUPERGIRL Look As WOMAN OF TOMORROW Gears Up For January Shoot

House of the Dragon alum Milly Alcock was spotted at the US Open, and the actress appears to be sporting her Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow hairdo ahead of the movie's January shoot...

Some photos of Milly Alcock in the crowd at the US Open have been shared online, and the House of the Dragon alum is sporting a very Supergirl-ish hairdo.

Alcock is naturally blonde (or strawberry-blonde, anyway), but her hair-style is lighter than usual here, and she definitely looks ready to take to the skies as the DCU's Woman of Tomorrow in the photos below.

Alcock is believed to have filmed scenes for James Gunn's Superman, and is scheduled to begin shooting her solo movie early next year.

Woman of Tomorrow will be the next DCU movie to release in theaters after Superman. Warner Bros. recently announced that our new Girl of Steel will take flight on June 26, 2026.

Craig Gillespie is set to direct.

This take on Kara Zor-El a said to be a "less earnest and more edgy version of the iconic superheroine" as Gunn looks to move away from "previous depictions of the Girl of Steel, particularly the long-running CBS/CW series fronted by Melissa Benoist."

Gunn recently revealed that he actually had Alcock in mind to play Supergirl since seeing her performance in HBO's Game of Thrones prequel series.

“Milly was the FIRST person I brought up to Peter for this role, well over a year ago, when I had only read the comics," the filmmaker posted to Threads. "I was watching House of the Dragon and thought she might have the edge, grace and authenticity we needed.”

According to a brief synopsis, this story will follow Kara as she "travels across the galaxy to celebrate her 21st birthday with Krypto the Superdog. Along the way, she meets a young woman named Ruthye and winds up on a murderous quest for revenge."

Actress and playwright Ana Nogueira is penning the Woman of Tomorrow script.

Gunn and Peter Safran announced the Supergirl reboot during their studio press day in January of last year, when the "Gods and Monsters" DCU slate was revealed. The project will be at least partially based on King’s acclaimed comic book series of the same name from 2022.

Said Gunn at the time, “In our series we see the difference between Superman who was sent to Earth and raised by loving parents from the time he was an infant, versus Supergirl who was raised on a rock, a chip off Krypton, and watched everyone around her die and be killed in terrible ways for the first 14 years of her life, and then came to Earth when she was a young girl. She’s much more hardcore, she’s not exactly the Supergirl we’re used to seeing.”

It's so... blonde. Like a chemical blonde not natural.

@valmic - I mean I’m just presuming, she’s starting the process to dye her hair blonde…

Anyone who’s had a girlfriend who’s dyed their hair for the 5th time this year will know this is the colour their hair goes after the first time dying it.

Then they’ll dye it again to give it a darker or lighter shade (I think) but yeah they still dye it a 2nd time to give it a natural finish. Otherwise if you tried to bleach the hair too much too quick, would just fry your hair clean off.

It looks like a girl from the 80s who tried to do it herself at home instead of going to a salon.

Her hair color there actually looks a lot bright. So not exactly "strawberry-blonde".

It's time to also get new casting announcements if they wanna roll cameras soon. (Same with The Batman Part II IMO)

@NinnesMBC - Mark is saying she’s usually strawberry blonde and that her hair is a lot lighter here then usual

I am with you though , it’s been far too long so we need some official DC casting announcements soon for this atleast (didn’t The Batman Part 2 get moved to 2026?).

@NinnesMBC - you know you don't have to announce your castings. They can sit on the casting for as long as they like in order to manage audience anticipation and keep the focus on other projects on their release slate.

@TheVisionary25 - True. TBH the last and only time I've heard of an actress that was described of having hair like that was someone that actually leaned closer to being a redhead (lol) so I'm more inclined to believe she fits better the description.

Yep The Batman Part 2 has moved to 2026, regardless Matt Reeves has been speaking a lot recently about where they're at in the post-production phase so I imagine it's because they're close to shooting. And having all of 2025 for them to shoot means they'll have enough time to have it ready for 2026.

@NinnesMBC - I think Part 2 is set to film until April so they still got some time.

Cool , she looks good (the hair is much brighter than I thought it would be though)!!.

This might be for Supergirl but if the movie doesn’t start shooting until January which is still 3-4 months away then I doubt she would have dyed her hair already for the shoot…

My guess is this is for the Netflix dark comedy series that she is doing called “Sirens” with Julianne Moore , Meghan Fahy ,Kevin Bacon , Josh Segarra and Glenn Howerton that she’s in the midst of filming.

BTW I've done some research and it's more likely that her current hairstyle is for the limited series she's been shooting since July. It's called "Sirens", will air on Netflix.

I wonder if Meg Donnelly, had a legitimate chance at the Supergirl role. Often times, directors already have their minds made up, based off of an actor's prior work.

@99OPTIMISTPRIME - She looks like she could be related to Corenswet much more than Alcock. I think youre right, Gunn already has his mind set.

@99OPTIMISTPRIME - I hope she gets another chance. She's not the best ever but from what I've seen from her, not that bad, just needs the right direction.
