Henry Cavill Seems Confident We'll See Superman Cross Paths With Shazam And Black Adam In The DCEU

There have been a lot of rumours about Superman's role in the world of Shazam and Black Adam in recent years and now Henry Cavill has weighed in on what could come next for the three heroes. Take a look...

Ever since Henry Cavill was photographed meeting with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, speculation has been running rampant that we'll see Superman and Black Adam together on the silver screen in the not too distant future. Rumours have already been swirling that the Man of Steel will make a cameo appearance in Shazam!, so he could very well become an integral part of this corner of the DCEU.

In the video below, the British actor talks about the possibility of these characters meeting but seems to think it might be better for Shazam and Black Adam to meet before Supes crosses paths with them.

It's a fair point but it definitely feels like Cavill may know something we don't and that there could be tentative plans in place for something with Superman, Shazam, and Black Adam. We'll just have to wait and see for now but with the Justice League star making it clear that he intends to return to the DC Films Universe in the near future, chances are we'll see them all meet on screen before too long.

What do you guys think? As always, be sure to let us know your thoughts in the comments section.

So you got a guy who is passionate for the character and great in the role but are still dragging your feet on another Superman movie? Come on guys get it together. It gets more embarrassing every year. I sure hope Shazam is great. I’ve liked most everything I’ve seen so far.

Unpopular opinion: I rather see DCEU Superman cross over & do films with other DCEU heroes than do a solo film with Brainiac

Brainiac is my favorite Superman villain but after 3 straight films of Superman fighting alien destruction like Zod, Doomsday, & Steppenwolf; I’m burnt out with seeing Superman fight aliens.

I much rather see team up style Superman films

Sorry but this Superman is done and forever tainted by the stench of WB and Snyder. There's nowhere left to go with this tarnished character other than a reboot as far as I'm concerned. Cameos and whatnot will not fix the mess you've created WB.

@obredaan - I kind of disagree....

I’m someone who was meh on MoS, didn’t like BvS at all, & don’t like JL but it should be noted even with the bad face cgi & the 2 terrible films before; Superman was still everyone’s fav from Justice League

I think if you give him roles like this, you could rebuild him up.

Sometimes the Superman curse comes in the form of a horse that refuses a jump. Sometimes the Superman curse comes in the form of anxiety eating. Or bipolar disorder. Or Orlando Bloom dumping you. Or being part of a pyramid sex cult with an unpronounceable name.

And sometimes, the Superman curse comes in the form of not knowing when to walk away... Henry.

@Spock0Clock - if he left...they would maybe (idk)have no choice but to soft reboot...

Who knows. I think that would be a major blow.

@Spock0Clock - Sometimes the
Superman comes from misguided advice from fans. Cavill is perfect casting. He needs the perfect Superman vehicle.

Shazam has no business being in the same universe as the Man of Steel. They should team up Bale's Batman with the Man of Steel

@Forthas - That would have been a terrible idea & ruins TDKRises.

@LEVITIKUZ - What do you mean?
LEVITIKUZ
LEVITIKUZ - 4/30/2018, 8:53 AM
@Forthas - The whole point of TDKRises was Bruce finding happiness & Batman becoming a symbol. We have John Blake taking over the mantle of the Bat & Bruce happy with Selina.

To have Superman exist would feel wrong & reverse everything TDKRises did to have Bruce back in the suit.

@LEVITIKUZ - But consider this. Bale's Batman is continually told (by Rachel Dawse and later Alfred) that he cannot leave Batman behind. When he "retired" after The Dark Knight, he was a miserable hermit and Alfred was encouraging him to get out. It seems weird to me that the only thing that he needed to leave Batman was just finding the right girlfriend.

Plus the realization that there are planetary threats (following the events of Man of Steel) and that there are circumstances that require more than just a "symbol" seems like - potentially - an natural evolution for Batman as a hero.

Again, I don't get why Marvel gets away with doing the exact same thing without the same criticism. At the end of Iron Man 3...Tony Stark retired! Yet he comes back in Age of Ultron with no explanation why? Was that a mistake? They glossed over that issue and it made no difference. In the case of Man of Steel an alien invasion would be a far more stark (pun intended) reason to come out of "retirement."
