A user over on the SuperHeroHype Forums claims to know how the final moments of Director Zack Snyder's
Man of Steel pans out.
"Clark will only be working at the Daily Planet for the final few minutes. His evolution of the course of the film is finding his place in the world. After he defeats Zod he has found his place, as Earth's savior. Then Lois asks that question "What are you going to do when your not saving the world?" Which is why he goes to work at the Daily Planet. There is a Classic Nolan montage scene of where all the characters are at interlocking with Clark on his way to the Daily Planet on his bike. The scene ends with Clark walking through the lobby and then putting his glasses on. As somebody walks past the screen it fades to BLACK. ROLL CREDITS."
Sounds about right to me from what I know of the film (Which is a lot!)
