I like how this is a lot like the first Superman one they did. Made out with Lois, smiled for the camera. Villains are stupid, etc haha

The destruction of Metropolis sets it up perfectly for Lexcorp to come in and rebuild the city. Setting up Lex Luther to be a hero in people eyes in MOS 2.

That's true, MoS does set up Luthor well, but I wish it was a little more like Birthright in that Superman is shown saving people when he first puts on the suit. In MoS the only thing he did as Superman (meaning in costume) was destroy things. I know he "saved the world" but the manner that he went about doing it doesn't really make the people confident he's a good guy. It will be interesting to see how they handle the sequel.

One major obstacle I think that needs to be tackled is the very end of the movie when Clark starts work at the Daily Planet. I had thought that their offices had been destroyed by the world engine. Perry and Jenny were running from the building and the pulsating terraforming beam thing, meaning the building was closer to it than they were when it stopped just before it was about to kill them. But then at the end they are all there working. This makes me wonder how that happened, unless they fast forwarded to where the city has been rebuilt or they rented another property to use as an office. I hope they focus on the aftermath. Especially with Clark as a reporter, he and Lois may be asked to write articles regarding such a catastrophic event. Then they have to work to build Superman's reputation as a good guy, especially if someone like Lex is focusing on the danger he could impose.
