Smallville: Finale Interview - Should the Last Episode Be Called "Superman"?

Smallville: Finale Interview - Should the Last Episode Be Called "Superman"?

Even though we're only at the mid-point of the season, eyes are already turning towards the Smallville series finale, and executive producers Brian Peterson and Kelly Souders have been interviewed on the subject by TVline.com.

Among the highlights:

TWO-HOUR FINALE?

BRIAN PETERSON: "it's a possibility. We'd love that and it feels like the right way to end."

KELLY SOUDERS: "We don't know yet. The beauty of it is that the last two episodes go hand-inhand, so no matter what happens, it will be an event."

GIVEN SMALLVILLE'S SINGLE WORD TITLES, WILL THE FINALE BE "SUPERMAN"?

KELLY SOUDERS: “That is not safe to say. We were actually just talking about it [on Friday], and we still don’t have a title. And literally, with the amount of stuff we have to lock down for that episode, the title is the least of our problems. It might be a no-brainer [such as 'Superman'], but I”m not sure."

Superman sounds cool. Does that time frame include stupid adverts or will it be seamless i.e. advert free.
[Frick] I hate TV ads.
I am not sure but maybe they might think of borrowing the title from DC/WB's newest animated Superman movie - Birthright.

@Superguy- I doubt he will be Superman and I will tell you why. Because Tom Welling doesn't even WANT to be Superman. He has said it numerous times in the past and the show is being so [frick]ing STUPID. I mean, he should have been Superman LOOOOOOOONG ago. [frick] by season FIVE he should have been Superman because 1) Jonathon Kent died of heart-failure, 2) Lex fully embraced his evil destiny and 3) Clark found the Fortress of Solitude. So that was the season that connected MOST with the traditional Superman mythos.

But again, Smallville is so [frick]ing stupid I swear.

Hey TheGODDAMNSUPERGUY - Awesome pic!

I still watch the show, having suffered through the weaker moments and having given up a few times. This has really been the best season and I hope the show won't just end with the finale.
Lois is hot. Yes, so much so that I want to see her as Lois in a movie. And Tom Welling is an awesome Superman. I would be happy to see either Tom or Routh plan Superman in the new film.
Haters will be haters. I guess it's cool to hate Smallville...

I know it doesn't mean much but Welling is actually listed to as CK/Superman for the first time ever on IMDB for the finale. I just can't wait to see him in that costume, it's going to be pretty insane.

I bet he becomes Superman at the start of the finale (maybe even before) so we get to see him for 2 hours playing the role.

Finally we'll see the real Superman and not some stick figure who happened to do a decent impression of Reeve.

i just hope he will not become supes after he defeats darkseid. he must battle darkseid as superman, not wear it before the credits roll....wear the damn suit for more than one episode, or at least for the full last episode, not just a scene.
