Three more stills from the upcoming DC Animation film, based on the story “What’s So Funny About Truth, Justice and the American Way?”, have found their way online.

In Superman vs. The Elite, Superman's effectiveness as a super hero comes into question when a new group of super powerful crusaders, known as "The Elite," appear on the scene. As super heroes, the Elite know no bounds, and are more than willing to kill, even on a massive scale, to stop villainy -- putting them on a collision course with the ever-ethical, yet preferably non-lethal Man of Steel.

In the movie, George Newbern reprises his Justice League animated TV show as Superman/Clark Kent, and primetime television star Pauley Perrette provides the voice of Lois Lane. Robin Atkin Downes steps in as Manchester Black, leader of The Elite. David Kaufman joins the cast as Jimmy Olsen, reprising the role from the Justice League animated series. The film is directed by Michael Chang; Bruce Timm is executive producer, and Alan Burnett is producer.

Superman Vs. The Elite is set to hit stores this summer, and is scheduled to premiere at Wonder-Con this Friday. A trailer is expected to be released soon.

Newburn was good as Superman, but Tim Daly will always be the voice of the Man of Steel for me.
Couldn't they atleast use his 52 suit since that is the mainstream version of it now?

@teabag, some people say that British teeth have character. i myself think that it is a cultural value that Americans have regarding white, straight teeth. That being said, here are some British actors with great teeth:

Kate Bekinsale

Simon Cowell

David Cameron

Catherine Zeta Jones

A lot of people don't care for the new superarmor least of all the general non-comic book reading public. It will cost the new film some ticket sales as well, you watch.

Big fan of DC's animated stuff, will definately be picking this one up. Loved the original story. And thankfully, DC animation is steering clear of the stupid new 52 costumes (although I did like the addition of Cyborg to the JLA in Doom).

Actually, Catherine Zeta Jones is Welsh. Yes, I know Wales is part of Britain, but so is Ireland, and call an Irishman a Brit and see what happens.

@Tea Dude, he's wearing a Union Jack shirt. That's a sure sign that he's British.

Ugh, when are they going to stop rehashing the same designs as the 90's Adventures of Superman and Animated Batman series and do something new? Dont get me wrong, I love those series, but they ended years ago, surely they could update it a bit or at least stop Superman looking top heavy... I'll still watch this though....

I like it. It has Doug Mahnke's Angles, but not the darklines and cross hathcing he does.

Also everyone making comments about the underoos, this story came years before the new 52, so why would they have the look match today's desing with the older story.

I wondered why the animation looked familiar.

Personally, I would've gotten Tim Roth for Manchester Black and just brought back Dana DeLany

You have no data or information to base any of that on. You're just pulling it out of your ass.

2nd I wish they would stop animating Superman in that tired old underpants costume and give us the new relaunch armor look

I will definitely be checking this out. But I hope they don't cut too much out of the film due to running time

@Superguy it wasn't an invulnerable Linus ass blanket like Morrison turned into.

But, my main point wasn't really the costume. Was the attitude ;)

I'm looking forward to this. I watched JL: Doom, and I thought it was very good.

They have a great team working on these movies. I just wish they would do a Flash or Martian Manhunter movie.

Superman and Batman are some of my favorite superheroes, but they need to put other characters in the spotlight. I mean, DC has a huge library of great characters that are basically being unused.

I can't help but feel as tho DC's animated films are starting to go downhill like their live action flicks! This one just doesn't look very good, and from the trailer I saw on JL: Doom, it seems like the acting or writing just isn't there either! I enjoyed JL: Doom enough I guess, but I felt as tho the dialog was pretty crappy, the writing wasn't as good as it usually is, AND even the fan (and my) favorite voice actors sounded as tho they were just phoning it in for a paycheck! I'm afraid!

One point should be made: DC/Warners HAS tried to move beyond Superman and Batman with things like Wonder Woman and Green Lantern: First Flight, but, unfortunately, unless it's Superman, Batman, Superman/Batman or some variation of the Justice League (including Superman and Batman) the sales drop off dramatically. Same problem that seems to face the live action division as well.

And I don't buy the notion that the cast phoned it in on Doom. These guys LOVE voicing those characters. That recently posted video with Tim Daly, Nathan Fillion and Michael Rosenbaum was generated BY the actors, which says a lot.
