Superman: Legacy director James Gunn has taken to social media to share some photos of the movie's recently-redecorated art department offices, and while the shots don't appear to contain any blatant hints or teases, there are some very interesting DC Comics covers adorning the walls.
There are 35 covers in total, and while it's obviously impossible to gauge which - if any - of these issues/storylines influenced the plot of the upcoming reboot, they might just give us some idea of the direction Gunn is planning to take the Man of Steel in for his latest big-screen outing.
The covers span multiple eras and arcs, including early Action Comics runs, DC Universe Rebirth, and more. They also feature supporting characters such as Lois Lane, Jimmy Olsen, Krypto (who is rumored to appear) and, perhaps most intriguingly, Supergirl.
Again, we have no way of knowing if any of these issues inspired Gunn's script, but the photo is certainly worth a look to see if anything jumps out.
In the comments of his post, Gunn also confirms that the final script has been competed "for a long time."

“Superman: Legacy is the true foundation of our creative vision for the DC Universe. Not only is Superman an iconic part of DC lore, he is also a favorite character for comic book readers, viewers of earlier movies, and fans around the world," said Gunn during the DCU slate announcement. "I can’t wait to introduce our version of Superman who audiences will be able to follow and get to know across films, movies, animation and gaming.”
Superman: Legacy will star David Corenswet as Clark Kent/Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern Guy Gardner, and Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho.
Casting is currently underway for Lex Luthor, Jimmy Olsen and Perry White, and now that the WGA strikes has come to an end, announcements may be forthcoming.
The Righteous Gemstones actor Skyler Gisondo was recently rumored to be a "top choice" to play Jimmy, while brothers Alexander and Bill Skarsgård are said to have tested for Luthor along with one-time Superman candidate Nicholas Hoult. Gunn has yet to weigh in on any of these reports, however.
Barring any delays, production is scheduled to commence next January.
