In a press release that came out today, we finally found out who will be playing Clark Kent/Superman in the upcoming and much anticipated fan-film 'Superman: Requiem'. They've signed on actor Martin Richardson. The majority of you will have never heard of Richardson, he recently performed in "You Wouldn't Know Him... He Lives in Texas.." and next can be seen in the short film "Siren Syndrome"



LONDON, April 1, 2011 – Cupsogue Pictures announced today that Martin
Richardson will play the world’s greatest hero, Superman, in the new fan-film
‘Superman: Requiem’.

The film will be directed by Gene Fallaize, who said, “We had quite an exhaustive
search to try and find our perfect Superman and we went through hundreds of
finalists before the auditions even began, but when Martin walked into the room I
instantly knew we had our Superman. Martin has showed total dedication to the
character already and has proved that he is perfect for the role, and on behalf of
everyone involved I am delighted to welcome him to the team.”
Fallaize, along with Tony Cook and Daniella Pellegrini are the producers of the highvalue

Filming is due to commence in May across the UK ahead of a November 2011
release, and will be available for streaming and free download.

He's not hot enough to be Superman. He's not attractive. Whats with that beak?! Pointy ass nose. He doesn't look like Superman but I'll watch it anyway since its just a fan film. It'll be fun to watch. Henry Cavill is a much better choice. I'm glad Snyder got that right.

@60f13- This is the lame fan-movie attached to the Donner-films and where Superman will lose his powers for most of the movie.

Yah...very boring.

I don't get why everyone wants to mimic Donner all the time. His universe is DONE, it's finished. The last Donner-esque film was Superman-Returns and that should have ended it for good. This movie having Superman lose his powers for most of it, I know it's going to suck because fans have long awaited to finally see Superman actually USE his powers for once. He NEVER FU*KING FIGHTS. That's the issue here and these idiot producers of this lame fan-film don't understand that.

@JULEZ13- Exactly, Henry Cavill will be the REAL Superman since he's in an actual WB Superman film. This other dude doesn't look like Superman and is only in a fake-film. lol

@6of13- Yep, I also read it focuses immensely on his relationship with Lois and how he gets along without his powers.

This fan-film may just have what it takes to top 'Superman Returns' in terms of putting people to sleep. lol

For some odd reason film-makers always wanna either-

A) KILL Superman in a film- (many pitches in the 90's for Superman to actually DIE in his film)

Or...

B) Have Superman lose his powers- (This was done in Superman II already. And Mark Miller wanted to make a film where the yellow sun goes supernova RED and thus Superman loses his powers and now...this fan-film is also looking to rape Superman of his powers) He has those powers for a REASON dammit. Let him use the amazing powers he was gifted with for once fu*k!!!

Hm.

Superman losing his powers sounds like a plot device born of budget rather than any artistic or narrative vision.

So it's on the fail train to sucksville from the start.

Fan films can be good, I've always liked the Bat in The Sun movies but this sounds like it's crippled itself from the start.
