I'm making assumption that turtles never were aliens, Michael Bay just didn't know difference between aliens and mutants when he gave that infamous comment. Thank god he is not making an X-Men film.

Sure he is respectful. That's why he gave those annoying, racist twin robots more screentime than Optimus Prime in Transformers 2.

So...Mr. Kevin Eastman....how much DID Mr. Bay pay you to say this?

Still not sold EVEN if the creator himself said so. Bay ignores the quality of the story and focuses more on the quality of product placement.

I will see the trailer first to judge whether or not I will see it.

STORY MATTERS FIRST!!!!

Honestly though it could turn out great.
1. Bay is just throwing money at this movie and NOT directing.
2. It's freaking TMNT ! its going to be kickass no matter if its PG-R
3. People Actually working on this film have some talent.

Eastman is nothing more than a yes-man. He is in it for the money. Plain and simple.

I'm glad they're not aliens though. Might not be too awful.

Ironically was watching the first transformers today. That movie really does have a lot of great moments/scenes in it.

Glad no alien origins. That would have been kind of ridiculous. My kid is really into ninja turtles so look forward to watching this with him.

Kevin Eastman. Never knew that name till now but. Hats off to you my friend. Thankyou.

“He’s been nothing but amazingly respectful, and Jonathan Liebesman’s been the director.”

It's like he had nothing good to say about Liebesman: "Liebesman's been... the director..." ;)

Will be fun to see another turtles movie.

^^ Except it's not. It's a Jonathan Liebesman movie.

I love how everyone's already blaming Michael Bay even though he isn't even directing it.

@Captain Obvious, what in the [frick] are you talking about!? He made 2 (TWO) films starring 2 (TWO) black characters. Maybe you heard of them? Will Smith and Martin Lawrence in Bad Boys 1 & 2... and in the 2nd film they bust up a KKK meeting/party clearly showing the audience that racism is bad lol. You should change your name to just Captain cause you don't know what the word 'obvious' means.

an ex-co worker of mine had an idea for a film festival called "Bayfest" in which you recreate classic films and bay them up with lots of explosions and loud noises. for example, the wizard of oz: michael bay style.

i eagerly await this dream to be made real.

@Odin

Actually in the original comics the origin of the ooze that created the turtles is actually alien. So had Bay gone with the "alien origin" of the turtles he wouldn't have been far off. The origin goes as follows, Splinter is in the sewers. A boy carrying four baby turtles home from a pet store is bumped by another boy (who is blind) saving an elderly man from walking out in front of a truck full of chemicals with a label of TCRI on the side (a reference to Daredevil). The turtles fall from the boy's hands into the sewer where. Splinter gathers them up and raises them as his own and the ooze mutates them. Later on the ooze is revealed to have been created by aliens.
