Those of us who are old enough to remember the original Crow soundtrack probably remember it as one of the best movie soundtracks ever. In fact is was so good it was probably 33.3333% of the reason you liked the movie at all. The other equally proportioned parts were of course, Brandon Lee’s acting and the story. Since I believe it is an undeniable fact that music gave a glossy and sparkling sheen to the overall appeal of the original Crow movie, is it not therefore fair to demand that The Crow reboot have an equally excellent soundtrack? With that in mind I’m going to throw out some suggestions for artists that I believe should be included in the soundtrack. I will only provide links to the respective artist’s song because the last time I actually put more than two videos in an article it took too long to load and I got zero comments…either that or my article just sucked. My goal is to compile a list of artists who can invoke the feelings and atmosphere that the original soundtrack of almost twenty years ago had, but with a modern glaze. My justification for each artist included is nothing more than the song I link to. I believe each artist has the ability to capture some element of The Crow mythos and express it in a way that we can empathetically feel. This list will most likely be constantly evolving. Sound off with your suggestions.

1. Jack white

Two Against One

2. Arcade fire

Haiti

3. Lana Del Rey

Video Games

4. Raveonettes

Lust

5. Cage the Elephant

Ain't No Rest For The Wicked

6. Lucinda Williams

Essence

7. Johnny Cash “Ain't No Grave”
This song should just be included and if you disagree, you’re wrong!

Ain't No Grave

8. My Morning Jacket

Holding On To Black Metal

9. Muse

Uprising

10. Sleigh Bells

Infinity Guitars

In keeping with the original soundtracks penchant for weird alternative n industrial songs, I vote for :

Cure-Scream
NIN-The Great Below
Helmet-So Long
Rollins Band-your number is one
Muse-Exogenesis
Mars Volta-Roulette Dares
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club-Six Barrel Shotgun
Deftones-You've Seen The Butcher
Peeping Tom (Mike Patton)-We're Not Alone
Gary Numan-Big Noise Transmission
Killing Joke-Love Like Blood
Danzig-Five Finger Crawl
Pendulum-Comprachicos
Smashing Pumpkins- 7 shades of black

the first four artists are returning from the original soundtrack, kind of a nod to the older film

i think it needs a little stabbing westward and maybe a little temple of the dog "say hello to heaven" for a climactic love scene(not a sex scene you pervs)

Damn music today suck! The cure Burn was epic! Trent should do the score, he killed it in TGWTDT. Skylar Grey should be on the soundtrack she's great!

I think the song My Immortal by Evanescence should be on the soundtrack because I saw several youtube videos with that song and the Crow and it works well together.

Oh, wow, I love how everyone is a Trent Reznor fanatic all of a sudden. Anyway.... yes, he should be included on the soundtrack as he was on the first one. My hero.

@xcrementus, I liked your selection much more than the OP. Very nice inclusion of artists from OST and The Mars Volta will always get my vote! And that Deftones track is one of my favorite! Since I'm a sucker for music and soundtracks I have to include my 2 cents in this.

The Crow Reboot Soundtrack Suggestion

1. Every Time I Die - "Roman Holiday"
2. Deftones - "You've Seen The Butcher"
3. Stone Temple Pilots -"Kitchenware and Candybars"
4. Rage Against the Machine - "Guerilla Radio"
5. VAST- "Lost"
6. Smashing Pumpkins- "Ava Adore"
7. Minus The Bear- "White Mystery"
8. NIN- "Perfect Drug"
9. The National- "Conversation 16"
10. Thrice- "Come All You Weary"
11. Duck Duck Goose- "Sgt Slaughter"
12. Fear Before the March of Flames-
"Taking Cassandra to the End of the World Party"
13. He Is Legend- "Dicephalous"
14. In This Moment- "Beautiful Tragedy"
15. Meshuggah- "Bleed"
16. Protest the Hero- "Bloodmeat"
17. Sigur Ros- "Hjarto Hamast"
18. The Sound of Animals Fighting- "The Heritic"
19. 16-Volt- "Suffering You"

Also, I cannot express enough how disappointed I was in Muse's last album. Complete garbage. That is all. Sorry if I've offended anyone. I can understand the alure of it, but it's just not for me. Give me "OoS" or "Absolution" over that any day. But I did like the "Ain't No Grave" idea. Even the sweet cover by "Crooked Still" would make a great addition. Cheers!

Guys I'm all for Trent Reznor being included in the soundtrack as the NIN song was my favorite of the album but to say that he should do the WHOLE thing, with that I cannot agree. It would make the soundtrack too one dimensional and not have the range of feeling felt in the first soundtrack. As for everyone else's suggestions... you guys have honestly thrown a lot of bands and artists out there that I've never heard of and thank you for that, I now have plenty to do.

@Alucard 365: I checked out Skylar Grey and she seems to be nothing more than commercialized depression...in other words a carbon copy of Avril Lavigne.

@Nephilim: No I'm not F*cking kidding about Lana Del Rey. Remember that Jane Siberry closed out the original soundtrack with "It Cant Rain All The Time". So you need that soft female counter balance to offset all the amped up energy in order to mirror the original soundtrack.

Something that could be cool (and marketable) is having Reznor come back and do a brand new track or two exclusive to the soundtrack as a nod to his involvement in the first soundtrack as well as his recent success in movie scoring. This would be interesting artistically and would help bolster sales.

My only problem with the list is Muse and Cage the Elephant, to me they both suck. I liked the Johnny Cash choice but I can't comment about the rest because I never heard of any of them
