When The Flash is finally released in theaters on June 16, it should bring a close to what's been a seemingly endless series of negative headlines about the big screen Scarlet Speedster.
Ezra Miller's (they/them) Barry Allen first debuted in 2016's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, with plans for the actor to star in their own solo outing in 2018 quickly falling apart. The project passed through the hands of multiple filmmakers and was delayed several times before landing in Andy Muschietti's lap, though even his vision for the movie has been forcibly altered.
The Flash was once set to lay the groundwork for a new DCEU and a Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover, but has since become a largely standalone affair thanks to DC Studios' intervention. What that means for Barry Allen's big screen future is hard to say, but it's really not looking good after Miller's many personal demons and alleged indiscretions became public.
We even recently learned that early box office opening weekend projections for The Flash have plummeted from $140 million to $70 million.
That doesn't bode well for a movie Warner Bros. is marketing as the greatest superhero tale ever put on film, but it's time for you, ComicBookMovie.com's readers, to weigh in with your thoughts.
In the poll below, we've included options we hope will establish whether The Flash is destined to fail or set to become one of 2023's biggest surprise hits by living up to the hyperbole shared by James Gunn, Tom Cruise, David Zaslav, and more.

Worlds collide in The Flash when Barry uses his superpowers to travel back in time in order to change the events of the past. But when his attempt to save his family inadvertently alters the future, Barry becomes trapped in a reality in which General Zod has returned, threatening annihilation, and there are no Super Heroes to turn to.
That is, unless Barry can coax a very different Batman out of retirement and rescue an imprisoned Kryptonian...albeit not the one he's looking for. Ultimately, to save the world that he is in and return to the future that he knows, Barry's only hope is to race for his life. But will making the ultimate sacrifice be enough to reset the universe?
The movie stars Ezra Miller, Sasha Calle, Michael Shannon, Ron Livingston, Maribel Verdu, Kiersey Clemons, Antje Traue, and Michael Keaton.
