THE FLASH: Michael Keaton Says Reprising The Role Of Batman Was "Like Riding A Bike"

Michael Keaton played the first big-screen incarnation of The Dark Knight in Tim Burton's Batman '89, and the actor will soon don the cape and cowl again for The Flash movie that's currently shooting in The U.K.

Though Ben Affleck's take on the Caped Crusader will also appear, Keaton's version is expected to have a more prominent role, and there are rumors that he might even stay on as the DCEU's Batman for at least a few more films.

While doing the rounds to promote his latest movie The Protégé, Keaton was asked what it was like to suit-up as the legendary DC Comics hero, and though he refrained from going into too much detail, he certainly seems excited to (re)introduce his interpretation of Batman to a new generation of fans.

"Like riding a bike," said the actor when asked what it was like putting on the costume again by reporter Kevin McCarthy. "Oddly yes. And also, memories came flashing back - no pun intended - came flooding back. They did, just as I start thinking about what a risk Tim took and everybody else involved, really."

In a separate interview with Jakes Takes, Keaton was asked if he said the iconic line "I'm Batman" yet, but declined to answer!

Andy Muschietti is directing The Flash from a script by Christina Hodson, with Michael Disco and Marianne Jenkins on board as executive producers. Plot details are still under wraps, but the story is expected to be at least partially influenced by the Flashpoint comic book arc.

In addition to Affleck and Keaton, Kiersey Clemons will reprise the role of Iris West, while Sasha Calle will make her DCEU debut as Supergirl. Ezra Miller will once again play Barry Allen, aka The Flash.

The Flash is currently is scheduled to race into theaters on November 4, 2022.

I can't wait to see him suit up again. And who knows? If all goes well, maybe we can get a Batman Beyond movie with him.

I'm curious if he's spoken to Burton in regards to reprising the role since this has all come to pass. I wouldn't be surprised if Keaton was aware of all this (early idea then, I'm sure) while they were making Dumbo.
