Paramount Pictures and Marvel Entertainment present the epic adventure, "Thor," which spans the Marvel Universe from present day Earth to the realm of Asgard. At the center of the story is the mighty Thor (Chris Hemsworth), a powerful but arrogant warrior whose reckless actions reignite an ancient war. Thor is cast down to Earth by his father Odin (Anthony Hopkins) and is forced to live among humans. A beautiful, young scientist, Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), has a profound effect on Thor, as she ultimately becomes his first love. It's while here on Earth that Thor learns what it takes to be a true hero when the most dangerous villain of his world sends the darkest forces of Asgard to invade Earth.

'Thor' hits theaters May 6th.

That's pretty neat. While fanboys [female dog] and complain about why a helmet is missing, or something of that sort, filmmakers clearly have visions and strategically execute them.

BatLantern - Desert, dude. Desert.

These posters are only educational if you're stupid. Yeah, wow, masking Thor's face in shadow DOES make it mysterious.

And OMIGOD, didn't pick up on the subtlety of Thor standing in the middle of the frame wearing a bright red cape.

Learning!

The first poster was and is brilliant!

Those sort of stylish enigmatic posters attract a wide variety of people and pique curiosity.

Out and out action style posters can turn off quite a few people who will write it off as "a dumb action movie", e.g. golden123.

These analytic posters really show the thought that goes into structuring scenes and images in film. Nice.

Great poster but this tells us nothing. I thought it would be some proper analysis or subtext that we might not have picked up on, but no it's "thor's hammer is his weapon" "his armour is pretty" "the red is not black so it stands out; this good." This is not news.

These posters just show how hard it is to explain the meaning of 'cool'.

Noticed these posters hung up in my film studies class at college today! Must admit they're nothing special, but it's cool to see people I know (who otherwise wouldn't know about the film) walking past and stopping, reading, and just getting generally psyched for it! :) I myself can't wait much longer - under a month now for us Brits! :D
