Marvel's Thor has been slow on official news, with Captain America getting the most attention. To up the meter of the film, here is some interesting news tidbits to check out, including small cast additions and their characters.

First, Stan Lee revealed a couple of days ago on Twitter that his cameo would be filmed on Thursday, which was yesterday, and you may have or may haven't seen his feedback of tweets.

"Wotta disappointment! I just finished doing my cameo for the great, upcoming Thor movie only to learn my name’s not above the title
about 23 hours ago

"But a leader of men always knows how to strike back! When our new nation is formed, we won’t recognize Asgard! That’ll show ‘em!

"Worst of all, I didn’t get to meet Anthony Hopkins. That means he’ll play Odin without my advice. Marvel sure does things the hard way!

"Thor’s great Director, Kenneth Branagh only had time for me to tell him how to shoot a few scenes. Otherwise, the poor guy was on his own
about 23 hours ago

"But, to be serious for a second, (not easy for me!) the movie looks GREAT—despite my cameo! You’re gonna LOVE it! Excelsior!

Am I the only one getting a negative vibe from those upper tweets. It seems o'l Stan the man didn't have a great time on set. At least we know they're focused on the film more, and not Stan Lee's cameo.

Next, Stunt guy James Ryen, and a guy named Ken Brady tweets something you & me both may be tired of hearing, but just adds to the suspense of actually seeing the costumes.

"Another costume fitting for Thor - beautiful, beautiful designs!
10:01 PM Mar 3rd

"Wow! Costume for Thor = AMAZING!
8:32 PM Feb 24th

And from Ken Brady,

"Hanging out at Ironhead Studios while friends work on the costumes for Thor.
6:40 PM Mar 4th

And speaking of Ironhead Studios,
____________________________________________________________________________________________

After seeing Ironhead Studios, I took a scroll over to their website, and found that they were apart of the costumes for X-Men, Watchmen, Daredevel, and the older Bat-man films. But I also found that they've included Thor in their current projects, and with Thor, they included poster that most likely isn't official, but I'll let you decide.

And last set of news, we have four new cast additions thanks to IMDB.
First is...

Courtney Jones, whose listed as "Asgardian Woman". Not to much to say about her character, except it's good to see another woman from Asgard on Thor's IMDB profile.

She hasn't posted anything Thor related, but here is her Twitter account & official site, just in case you may want to follow her.

Next is... Matt Battaglia, whose playing "Pete" in the film.

I imagine his role would be on earth, and not up in Asgard, though I may be wrong, since the guy is 6'2. But Matt himself, recently produced Brothers, which starred Thor's Natalie Portman.

No twitter account, but heres his official site.

Official Site

____________________________________________________________________________________________

Next is... Cassity Atkins whose playing a "SHIELD Guard". I imagine his role is on earth as well, possibly being apart of Clark Gregg's character, "Phil Coulson, agent of SHIELD, entourage, like in Iron Man.

Cassity Atkins and who I reported a couple of "roundups" ago, John Bailey, are both listed as "SHIELD Guards", Plus Cassity will also appear in Iron Man 2 being listed as a "Expo Patron". SO the SHIELD entourage thing could be so in Marvel's Thor as well..

___________________________________________________________________________________________

Last, and most interesting...Darren Kendrick playing "Jotun Sentry". The reason I say this is most interesting, because there is more possible background on his character.

Character Background:
If you don't know, "Jotun" in Norse Mythology, is a member of a race of nature spirits with superhuman strength, described as sometimes standing in opposition to the races of the tribes, basically are Giants & enemies to Thor and Asgard.

And a "Sentry" is basically a guard. So it seems Darren Kendrick's character will be with Heimdall, portrayed by Idris Elba, protecting the gates of Asgard from the giants.

But whats even more interesting is from Darren's Official Site

Darren is very excited to be working on the current production of Marvel Comics "Thor". Can't really say to much about it right now, (or his role) but it is going to be a great addition to the build up for the Avengers.

Now I may be overlooking things greatly, but if his character is nothing but a guard for Asgard, what could that have to do with the "build up for the Avengers". Quoting that, they could just mean the Thor film in general building up for the Avengers, but again possibly overlooking things, this makes me think of the actually Marvel character, "Sentry".

I'll let you speculate, but that's all folks

@kenny38606 Hope so. It just seems like he wants to be more apart of the film, and they are telling him he isn't needed. IDK it may just be me.

Nice article MF!

I think the Darren Kendrick quote is probably your first idea. Thor is building up to the Avengers.

I can't imagine they would put up anything official over at Ironhead but maybe somebody goofed. It looks decent from the back.

The last poster isn't from Ironhead is it?

Stan Lee has very sarcastic sense of humor, he's obviously just kidding around in his Tweets. Anyone that knows anything about the man should see that.

I can't really see them putting the Sentry in a movie.I'm sure Marvel is aware how much people dislike the character.

Guys, I think that poster is the real costume (from behind, of course). If it's on the Ironhead Studio website, then it must be somewhat legitimate.

Also of note, look at the shoulder guards... they look like they are designed exactly like the THOR game designs CBM posted a few weeks ago (albeit, slightly smaller).

Here is the link to those designs...

If Darren Kendrick's character is described as a "Jotun Sentry"... wouldn't that make him an enemy of the Asgardian gods and therefore likely to not be a guard of Asgard standing next to Heimdall?

I imagine he will simply be playing a member of Loki's army that attacks Asgard and Midgard and not "The Sentry".

Stan needs to get over himself being so important in these movies. yes! we thank you for creating them! we know already! be in the movie and get your minute of fame and be done with it. But yeah.. if hes being sarcastic... so be it. there is a fine line between whining and sarcasm... and he was sounding more on the whining side.

A 'Jotun Sentry' would most likely be a guard of Jotunheim, not Asgard. Since the Jotuns are Giants, either Frost or Storm, he is probably part of the 'ancient war' storyline that invades Earth. Loki(Hiddleston) and Skurge the Executioner(Gatt) are half Jotun. I have a feeling that this is a big part of the Avengers storyline as well.

I think the less said the better. This movie will truly be the test of Marvel studios. Thor is not a one dimensional hero, and with the brilliant cast involved it has the word epic written all over it. This is the best bet at Marvel not only making a movie for us fans, but gaining outside acclaim like Lord of the Rings did. The last thing I want are spoilers all over the net, save it for the trailer, and the film itself.

Yeah, I love these articles with the collected updates- Thanks for posting!
And Stan's just using a bit of old-school self-deprecating humour in his tweets; I wouldn't read too far into them...he's just havin' fun!

Whoever takes Stan Lee's comments seriously needs to get a grip on reality. He always makes sarcastic statements like that and is obviously just kidding. People need to get a grip and stop trying to read so much into comments that are 140 characters or less... ugh.

Sentry's a mysteriously powerful character who needs time to build up before we just throw him into the Avengers movie.

i don't think this is about the character of The Sentry. but bringing that up actually makes me so down for him to show up in a marvel film!

he could be done right, there are no bad characters, only bad writers. he would eventually become a villain if they did i'm sure and hey- maybe that could be part of the lead up to a world war hulk movie??

after planet hulk of course:)

I hope and pray that isn't the costume, it's too weak looking.

The helmet wings are too small, the shoulder guards are too small and where's his knee protectors?

If they get Thor's costume wrong, I really don't care about the rest!
