What Tom Hiddleston Said About THOR: RAGNAROK... Last Year

Now that it's confirmed Thor's third solo outing will be exploring the end of all things, hit the jump and check out what Loki actor Tom Hiddleston once said about the adapting the Ragnarok storyline

Around this time last year, when Thor: The Dark World was about to hit theaters, Tom Hiddleston took part in an overlooked interview with MovieWeb where the British 'Loki' actor had discussed the possibility of a third film as well as the direction it might take. It's no secret Thor: Ragnarok is now coming in 2017, but in the aforementioned interview, Hiddleston had hinted that his fourth (or fifth) turn as the God of Mischief would indeed be exploring the end of all things. "I think there are very interesting things that happen," he said of the Ragnarok storyline. "In the mythology, when you get into Ragnarok, which is the 'end of all things', it's not the end of the world...It's the end of time, and the universe, and space. And I think, if I am correct...Loki essentially, sets that in motion. And his motivation for doing so is intriguing and he almost becomes the incarnation of chaos, in a way...So I think that can be quite new." He then continued, hinting at the inclusion of Sigyn, Loki's wife in the comic books. "In the myth, he has a wife called Sigyn who protects him from a poison serpent who is dripping venom into his mouth. And she has a bowl over his mouth and of course the bowl keeps filling up and she has to empty it, and so his damnation could be interesting. I don't know...I mean, Loki is a character who's existed in popular consciousness for 3,000 years, so there are many, many iterations I could explore...It's just a question of whether audiences would want to see him again."  What do you think?

Considering the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron is said to set up Chris Hemsworth's third solo outing as the God of Thunder, we may get an early indication of how the "end of all things" will come into play before Thor: Ragnarok hits theaters on July 28, 2017. One thing we can definitely expect in the Marvel threequel, as co-writer Christopher Yost reassures, is many character deaths. "Ragnarok is the end of all things," said Yost on Twitter. "What are we supposed to do, let people live?!"

I love Loki in the MCU, I'd take a solo movie of his any day of the week...think his backstory would be amazing to see on film...maybe someday...

All we need is a talented director that has previously dealt with the realm of lore, my choice is Peter Jackson, but that's a pretty obvious choice. I'd like to see a mystical veteran on this project.

A few easy steps to make this the best Thor film:

1. Stay away from Earth. The 9 realms are still largely unexplored.
2. Use Surtur. Pretty much a given, right?
3. Use Loki. A lot.
4. Give Thor some kind of personal journey/struggle. Let me feel his struggle.
5. Kill Jane Foster. Yes. Kill her. Team Sif.
6. Give the Warriors 3 and Sif some dramatic scenes. Make them real characters, not just joke deliverers.
7. Introduce Beta Ray Bill. Epic character.
8. Bring back Odin just long enough for an on-screen death. Sir Anthony Hopkins deserves to bow out in the role.

Would we want to see him again? Are you serious!? He's one of the best things in the entire MCU!

IF Jane or Darcy have any second of screentime in this movie I am NOT going to see this!

I can't stand those stupid side characters anymore.

We have literally hundreds of pages of comic book lore, characters, they have barely put any of it on film yet

One other thing… So we are not talking about Thor's clone from Civil War than?

@AlexanderLykins Beta Ray Bill would be insanely menacing and awesome on the big screen.

Poor Alan Taylor. The Russos were signed back on before TDW DVD's even hit shelves.

My pick for Thor 3 is Guillermo del Toro. He has a mix of great character moments with awesome action. Even though I thought Pacific Rim was kinda boring on the characters, there are a lot of writers/directors that do better when they have pre-established characters to work with than new characters. So I think he'd do great.

Besides Pacific Rim was a fun movie. And the Hellboy movies are like one of my favorite movies of all time.

BREAKING NEWS:

Loki took programming classes in-between Thor Dark World and Ragnarok. He becomes an anti-social programmer hell bent on stopping do-gooders everywhere.

The more Loki, the better. Tom Hiddleston owns the role.

If this gonna be Thor's Cap 2 TWS, we need amazing fanatsy battles a la LOTR, Thor kicking ass showcasing his true superman level strength and speed, we need a struggle for him a personal one, lady Sif and warriors three being to thor what widow and falcon were to Cap, Loki is good all on his own and surtit and the fire demons are NEEDED. Asgard must fall. Ravaged and completely destroyed. It can be Thor's struggle. Seeing his home destroyed and not being able to do anything about it. Ragnarok is inevitable and unstoppable.love to see Thor sentences to Hel and having to escape and come back to avenger his home. A cameo by Hela would be great.

Guillemot Del Toro, Alfonso Cuaron, David Yates or Tarsem Singh would be great choices for director. I'd even take an unlikely unknown. Russos proved that unknowns can be great.
