Well, Rosita and Sasha's suicide mission to assassinate Negan went about as well as we expected on tonight's episode of The Walking Dead thanks to an uncooperative Eugene and Sasha going into business for herself right at the end. Both ladies are still breathing (for the time being), but something tells me that'll change once Negan discovers he has an intruder.

Next week, the gang sets out to find the duo, while Gregory appears ready to take drastic action to cure his Maggie headache.

If you've read the comics you should have a pretty good idea how all of this shakes out, but if not, please be sure to share your theories in the usual place.

But really, while I know this season has been slow, it's worth it for what the end game will be.

I love how every week there is the same kind of comments on these posts: "Haven't watched the show. Hear it is boring. Should I watch." And then people who have watched the show reply with stuff like: "It's super slow. This season sucks. You shouldn't watch." The walking dead is one of the top 5 most watched shows. If you are asking whether or not to watch it go read and f-ing review on IGN or watch a trailer on youtube.

Walking dead is one of the only shows on cable that has a 16 episode season format. Most shows have around 22 episodes. If you think that this is dragged out and slow go watch Arrow, Flash, Supergirl, ect. and tell me that those shows are 80% dragged out filler drama and 20% forward moving plot developments. I think that the people who comment that this show is slow/badly paced/dragging don't understand what this show is or what it is trying to do. Open up the first volume of the comic and read Robert Kirkman's letter in the beginning. From the very start he said that the walking dead is about exploring life after the world ends and seeing how characters evolve to survive in a new world. This show isn't about non-stop action and Rick being a badass. It's about the choices these characters make to survive, how much they let themselves go to live another day, and what is most important to them when everything else has been stripped away. That is why these small character moments are important and essential to the premise of the show and not just dragging filler. If you don't like the show, stop watching it. It's as simple as that. @RiddlrBot - Walking Dead is by far worse than Arrow and The Flash. Not as bad as Iron Fist though.

What Walking Dead has become is 5 episodes of story dragged out over 16 episodes. Not because it is a series about character development but because AMC wants to make money while giving nothing in return. It is the result of the corporate mentality. Cheap product to maximize profit. Kirkman is on board with that. He was part of the push to remove Darabont from the series.

Such thinking usually leads to a brief period of great profits that finally kill off the product once consumers see it is a failure.

Season 1 of Walking Dead was artistically driven. Season 2 and 3 saw the artists held back from expressing themselves. From season 4 on Walking Dead has been nothing more than a business for AMC. No artistic integrity in it.

Why do people continue to watch when they are dissatisfied? Maybe because they keep hoping Walking Dead will return to the greatness of season 1. Or be at least as good as seasons 2-3. And of course AMC, Gimple, Kirkman, Reedus, Lincoln keep dropping hints, year after year of how great things will be. "Things are about to pick up! The mid-season finale will blow you away! The season finale is crazy with action!" So people who want it to be better watch and are letdown again and again.

It is really not cool to say those who want it to be better are in the wrong to keep checking it out only to find that it is a lackluster TV series that exists only to make AMC money. You have not idea how not cool that shit is.

@ManDeth - The show is like the comics. There isn't a "better way" to adapt it. The Walking Dead follows the same tone, pacing, and formula as the comics. If you don't like that don't watch it, but don't say that it isn't living up to the comics, because it has and more. Think about amazing characters like Carol and Morgan. Think about what it would be like if we never saw episodes like "The Grove" or "Here's Not Here" because too many people whined about character driven storytelling and wanted more action.

I conceit to you that AMC doesn't mind cheaping out on a few aspects of the show to make more profit (aka the awful CGI this season and the drama that happened during the making of season 2), but your point about the episodes dragging out to make more profit is ridiculous. If AMC really wanted to make more money they would mandate the show be 22 episodes, not 16. What you called dragged out storytelling is also ridiculous. I will repeat, the walking dead is about the choices characters make to survive. 7A was about Rick making the choice to obey the Saviors to try to keep his group alive. We saw how that played out across 4 different communities and ultimately he discovered that that way of surviving wasn't really life. 7B was about Rick and co preparing for war. The group is forced to make hard decisions regarding involvement in the war (Ezekiel trying to remain neutral, Rosita/Sasha not willing to wait to fight, Carol trying to live on her own, Morgan killing again, and Tara keeping Oceanside secret). There's a lot going on there. Try shoving that into 5 episodes. Season 8 will be All Out War. It would not be as satisfying to watch and have interesting developments if we didn't have everything this season setting it up.

Lol, if you have been watching Walking Dead for 6 years hoping that it will go back to being like it was in the 6 episode 1st season you're a fool and wasted a good portion of your life watching television you don't like.

The Walking Dead is what it is. If you don't like it hop off the train, because it isn't changing anytime soon and it shouldn't have to. It is faithful to the tone and pacing of the comic book, it has some of the best performances on TV, and it is the 4th most watched program on television. Also your last point is just dumb. The things people don't like about the show are integral to what the show/story is. So they just don't like the walking dead. That's fine. They don't have to watch it.

@RiddlrBot - Two different mediums and the series has proven that things like the way Negan killed Glenn may work in the comics but it does not work in live action. Other scenes ripped verbatim from the comics have fallen flat in live action. Glenn's death should have been the most major and powerful death on the series ever, was reduced to a cruddy cliffhanger. And an exhibition on make-up and Jeffrey Dean Morgan's ability to deliver puns.

You think you are watching character driven TV. All you are watching is slow, dragged out TV. Dragged out to help AMC have the cheapest 45-48 minutes of an episode while making big bucks from ads.

Examples, in the latest episode in multiple scenes time is spent on Jesus walking in rooms and slowly walking across them. Sasha walking across a room to her jacket, putting on her jacket. A savior being interrupted by Enid. Savior walking into a cellar while Maggie and Daryl hide. Savior slowly leaving the cellar.

A scene that meticulously shows the saviors go to their truck. Climb on and into their truck. Drive away in their truck.

Sasha and Rosita taking a slow walk to Negan's hideout. Sasha and Rosita having a nice, long conversation in a building as they wait for Negan to come outside. Rosita tying knots, Teaches Sasha to tie knots. They take turns looking at Eugene. A shot of Rosita carefully and slowly setting a rifle down.

That is foot dragging. Not character development. The series is creative about dragging out time and making simpletons such as you think it's all about character development. You got played. Fell for a carnival trick and you praise and defend the very people making a fool out of you.

The indisputable fact is that 99% of Walking Dead episodes consist of 20 minutes of story, dragged out into 45-48 minutes of time.

You pulled out the same garbage points from your last failed post. "4th most watched show on TV." "People who critique it should not watch it." What a laugh! Neither comment do a thing to counter anything I said.

You don't seen to read very carefully either. I said people watch the series hoping it will be entertaining again. But I'm not surprised a person being jerked around by AMC and thanking them for it could not comprehend what I said.

Ignorance is bliss. So you should just stay in the dark and be happy. If you don't like comments that acknowledge reality, then by your own logic, you should not read them.

@ManDeth - Im sorry but I don't understand how you can shit on Iron Fist and Walking Dead.... and then turn around and tell us that the teenage melodramatic, villain of the week, crap that the CW tries to pass for comic book television is quality. Arrow, Flash, and LOT are all completely overrated. The CW is not a place for these characters.
