ARROW To Tackle H.I.V.E. In Season 4

ARROW To Tackle H.I.V.E. In Season 4

Arrow's David Ramsey (John Diggle) says that the H.I.V.E. storyline has progressed as far as it will go in season 3, but that the nefarious DC Comics organization will play a MAJOR role in season 4.

Spoiler Warning:[If you've watched Arrow from the beginning, you're familiar with the fact that Diggle (Ramsey) initially targets Deadshot (Michael Rowe) for a revenge-killing after Deadshot killed his brother, who was also a professional bodyguard.  Diggle was under the impression that Deadshot missed his intended target and killed his brother by accident.  However, Deadshot informs Diggle, "that he never misses" and his brother was the intended target all along.  Diggle later learns that Deadshot was hired by a mysterious organization named H.I.V.E. to assassinate Andy.  ]

This particular subplot has been definitely been a slow-burner,  taking its time to develop across all three seasons of the show.  There's still a lot of mystery around this plot thread that will unfortunately not be resolved in the remaining 5 episodes in season 3.  Instead, H.I.V.E. will play a major role in season 4 according to Ramsey.  He tells E!, "From my understanding, H.I.V.E. is going to be a big part of next season's big baddie.  We are going to delve right into why H.I.V.E. hired Deadshot to kill Andy and what H.I.V.E. is all about to begin with. There will be a lot of Diggle's connection to H.I.V.E. next season so stay tuned."

Last year,  Oliver Queen actor Stephen Amell told fans at Dallas Comic-Con that the show had a five-year plan to tell the Green Arrow origin story and recap the five-years Oliver was Amell's on Lian Yu.  Some fans have interpreted Amell's words to mean that Arrow will end after five seasons while others speculating that the show won't call him Green Arrow until after five seasons.  However, now that we know that Arrow will be starting the endgame for the H.I.V.E. storyline next season, perhaps season 4 is indeed the penultimate chapter of Arrow?

Arrow season 3 marches on with all new episodes on April 15 at 8PM on The CW.

If H.I.V.E. means we get more of a Diggle focused season, then im jumping back on board of Arrow faster than the Flash

But if it means it's more Felicity centered because it's a tech villain, then [frick] this show

First DC Movies took away Ted Kord, then Deadshot, and I would be surprised if the Flash is still on TV when the movie comes out even though it will have only been on a few seasons. Deadshot could have been a huge part of the Hive storyline and it would not have effected Suicide Squad's Box Office.

it can last 5 seasons but not like season three just setting up the flash and spin offs. I think Ras was a bad choice of villian I love Ras but to early for oliver to fight him.

The show definitely took Deathstoke and Deadshot in the wrong direction but I feel like that was probably due to the fact that the Suicide Squad movie meant they had to write those characters off. If the show had known the movie was coming, I'm sure they never would have used those characters at all.

The writing has not Suffered much.
People are making too big of a deal just because they're easily dazzled by Flash's humor, powers and colorful palettes. It's basically "Marvel-lite" at this point.
Arrow has been solid throughout this season. Instead of being overwhelmed and attacked like he was last season, Oliver has one head-on threat that is pushing at him, in the form of Ra's Al Ghul. Obvious "CW-isms" like the RayLicity plot and Nyssa's whining are always going to be part of the show's DNA. It's best to embrace them.

I like Diggle fine, but they should really kill him off.

Interesting
Since HIVE is responsible for turning Caitlin Snow into Killer Frost in the comics,
Could another crossover bring HIVE into the Flash show and be responsible for her transformation?

@CherryBomb Oooh, good point, maybe they try to recreate the particle accelerator event in Central City and test it out on random victims? Caitlyn being one?

@ComicsBornAndBred If you honestly think Arrow wouldnt last past 5 seasons, then you're as delusional as they come

@WinterOstritch

Ah that's a very good point. Or they kidnap Caitlin to help build one, she kinda all goes heroic and sacrifices herself to stop it leading to her transformation? Who knows but I really do want to see her power up into Killer Frost and be a villain.

I liked the first two seasons but the writers have gotten stupid. I'm tired of so many lame romantic subplots. Hoping they get it together soon.

HIVE was amazing in the original Teen Titans show, even if it was very different than the comics.

As long as this is the baddie for one episode ill be good forever.

Glad there will be a 4th season of Arrow I have enjoyed season 3. And it will be great to see Hive I always thought it was the organisation that Queen Bee was the leader of. Will be cool to see them and other DC heroes too who may appear

Arrow will regain more of my respect if they kill off Detective Lance, he's just an annoying character at this point. His shtick is getting old, he was more likeable as Commissioner Gordon-lite, but as a 13 year old girl who got her feelings hurt.

Me too, loved HIVE in the Teen Titans show.
Even though jinx was a huge departure from the comics, she was so much fun.

Romantic subplots are part of comics in every medium, everyone needs to get over that part. Show has taken a hit from the division of duties with Flash, hopefully they realize and course correct. Their ratings should be telling them that.

i just really want to know what brings Oliver back to the island, and what happens during that last year on the island. i remember the producers saying the first episode with Oliver running through the forest picks up right after he defeated someone significant

Sounds like they need to resolve some issues with former cast members, like give Deathstroke a significant storyline, like wiping out his fixation on Shado, and making him a superpowered mercenary again.

I'm most bothered that WB thinks multiple versions of characters will confuse people, especially considering how few people watch Arrow and The Flash, most of whom are comic book fans
BigFoster
BigFoster - 4/5/2015, 7:52 AM
i was so happy they kept the shows separate from the movies because it would mean the shows would have creative freedom, turns out they have very little creative freedom\

Good to see Diggle become important again.

WB should really get their head out of their in regards to multiple versions of characters on film and tv. They literally hog the characters for movie which end up limiting what the tv shows can do.
BigFoster
BigFoster - 4/5/2015, 8:03 AM
Compared to the number of people who will see the Movies it is few
BigFoster
BigFoster - 4/5/2015, 8:04 AM
most of the millions who watch these shows are previously familiar with comic books, and would not be confused by multiple interpretations of the characters
