It looks like there's an extremely real possibility that we'll actually get a chance to see Bruce Wayne make the leap from boy millionaire to Caped Crusader by the time Gotham ends its run as FOX has made a decision that, if all goes according to plan, should help get us just a little bit closer to witnessing that iconic moment.

Last night, multiple sources reported that the network has officially renewed the hit superhero prequel series for a fourth year, bringing its episode total to around 88 episodes by Spring 2018, which is coincidentally just around the edge of syndication. No word on which direction the fourth season will take or which villains we'll see, but the show's full cast is expected to return.

On a related note, FOX will now become the first network to air both a DC series and a Marvel series alongside one another during the same television season, having already awarded Matt Nix's X-Men family drama The Gifted with a series order earlier this week.

So, what do you guys think? Sound off with your thoughts below!

Season Three will peel back the curtain on the infamous criminal organization known as the Court of The Owls. With the Indian Hill escapees on the loose, JIM GORDON must take matters into his own hands as a bounty hunter in Gotham. Meanwhile, GCPD Detective HARVEY BULLOCK and Captain NATHANIEL BARNES remain at the forefront of the fight against crime in the monster-ridden city. Also, BRUCE WAYNE, with the help of his trusted butler and mentor, ALFRED PENNYWORTH, and former Wayne Enterprises employee, LUCIUS FOX, discovers there are still more secrets to uncover regarding his parents’ murders.
