HEROES' Milo Ventimiglia Joins The Cast Of GOTHAM

This just in: Former Heroes actor Milo Ventimiglia has joined the cast of Fox's Batman origin series in a major recurring role. We now know The Joker will be showing up in Gotham sooner than we thought -- could that be who he's playing? Click on to find out!

Though there is some speculation that Ventimiglia's character could eventually become The Joker, that's not who he's starting off as. Warner Bros. TV has has announced that the former Heroes actor will play a seductive serial killer named Jason Lennon, aka “the Ogre.” This is not the established DC Comics character of the same name, but an original creation for the show. Lennon is described as a "killer who has been preying on the young women of Gotham for nearly a decade, luring them into his web and confronting them with a series of “tests” as he searches for his perfect mate. When the women fail to live up to his impossible standard, Lennon disposes of them quickly and viciously." The press release also mentions that the Ogre will have a "major, multiple-episode recurring arc", and that "his obsessions, combined with Gordon’s determination to bring him down, send both Gordon and Lennon — and those around them — on a course toward tragedy." Interesting addition I'm asure you'll agree. Expect Ventimiglia to debut in episode 19 of Gotham.

Man this guy was great in heroes...well until they nerfed his powers cuz they didn't want someone to be on the same level as Sylar.

I especially loved the future versions of his character. Really showed his range, since he was sucha puzzy and goody two shoes in the first half of season one.

I am excite!

Peter was the worst character on Heroes. He was basically the annoying kid you played with whose power was to have all the powers.

This guy looked more like the future Batman of this show to me.

Just remembered he was amazing in "The Divide" too. What an effed up movie that is but he really carries the movie. It's about ppl trapped in a basement after a nuke attack.

I could def see him playing the character described in the article, just from that role. Man he was creepy. Gives me chills just thinking about the ending...

He's not the Joker. The description tells us who he is. My guess is that either Barbara or Leslie dies at the end of this arc. Probably Leslie, since that's the chick he cares about at the moment.

I liked his character in Heroes. He was a little annoying sometimes but I think it was the writing. Hope he's not the Joker

Tragedy? Someone is going to die? Please be Barbara!

Dereklake I would prefer it be Barbara who leaves the show. Her arc feels like a dead end. Leslie is more intriguing and the chemistry is full on. But DC has a habit of making poor decisions in matching the couples up. Like in Flash I think there is more chemistry between Barry and Caitlin than Barry and Iris.

One thing I noticed about the show s they are casting good to great actors in villain roles for 1 or 2 ep. They should try to keep one these actors for at least a 5 episode story arc.

Nightwing. ...Terry McGinnis, Joker???

The Ogre. The Joker. Sound similar. Maybe the Ogre is a coverup for the Joker? And maybe the Ogre is looking for what will eventually be Harley Quinn in the future?... Idk, just spouting crap. Haven't watched the show yet, lol.

@ElDarkside - I concur. He was pretty spot on in that role. Definitely eerie.

I also loved him in "That's My Boy". I know it was hated by critics and fans alike but that was the Adam Sandler I grew up listening to on the CD's and I LOVE that movie. Back to what made him the breakaway star of SNL in the 90's. It wasn't his kids-friendly films (which didn't exist in the 90's), his dramatic roles (though I really liked his performance in "Reign O'er Me") or whatever movie we're on now with Drew Barrymore (SHE'S MIIIINNNEEE!!!).

that being said, I'm leading the campaign to have a movie about The Goat!!

With all of his villains being in theire late twenties/ early thirties, Batman won't have much opposition when he finally grows up.... So many things are wrong with this show, it's just embarassing...

Future jump...that's the best way to shake things up on Gotham. Milo could be....anyone but who they've made up for him to play. *OR* just go ahead and introduce COURT OF OWLS and let Milo be one of the earlier members.

@DatScarletPimPerNeLL - "Future jump...that's the best way to shake things up on Gotham."

I've been saying/hoping for the same thing too.

Just wish Gotham was set in the 70s, 80s or even 90s so they could jump the timeline forward a few times every season or every other season, so it builds towards actual present day. Where now, they'd be timeline jumping into the future. Which could still work. Personally, I just wish they progressed through previous decades rather than future decades.

Ogre from the mainstream Batman comics (pre-New 52):

O.G.R.E. as portrayed in the non-canon Batman re-imagining comic, Batman: Confidential:
