CBS has announced today that Calista Flockhart will play Cat Grant in Supergirl, the boss of Kara Danvers (Melissa Benoist). Here's what the official description tells us about this take on the character. She's described as J.Lo by way of Anna Wintour, and the self-made founder of CatCo, a media empire that includes a global magazine and websites in multiple spheres. Having started her career as a reporter, she has the media savvy of Kim Kardashian with the entrepreneurial knowledge of Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg. Apparently, Kara serves as Cat Grant’s personal assistant and it’s not an easy job. The press release adds that being an assistant to a super-villain might be easier. Flockhart is best known for Ally McBeal, but also appeared regularly in Brothers & Sisters. The show appears to be taking a pretty strange and unexpected direction with casting, as their choice for Jimmy Olsen was also pretty different to what comic book fans are used to...
