Entertainment Weekly has debuted the official cinematic trailer and poster for The Orville: New Horizons, the upcoming third season of the Seth MacFarlane-fronted sci-fi comedy series, which is finally set to debut on Hulu after a three-year hiatus due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

While plot details have mostly been kept under wraps, the new trailer does offer a quick sneak peek at what we can expect from the eleven-episode season and introduces a few new characters that will be joining the Orville crew on their next batch of adventures.

New Horizons will also feature the last performance of comedian Norm Macdonald, who completed his voice work for Lt. Yaphit before he passed away last September.

The main cast for season three will feature Seth MacFarlane (Capt. Ed Mercer), Adrianne Palicki (Cmdr. Kelly Grayson), Penny Johnson Jerald (Dr. Claire Finn), Scott Grimes (Lt. Gordon Malloy), Peter Macon (Lt. Cmdr. Bortus), Jessica Szohr (Lt. Talla Keyali), J Lee (Lt. Cmdr. John LaMarr), Mark Jackson (Isaac), Anne Winters (Charly Burke), and Chad L. Coleman (Klyden).

The Orville: New Horizons premieres June 2.

Seth MacFarlane’s epic space adventure series “The Orville” returns exclusively as a Hulu original series. Set 400 years in the future, “The Orville: New Horizons” finds the crew of the U.S.S. Orville continuing their mission of exploration, as they navigate both the mysteries of the universe and the complexities of their own interpersonal relationships.

So weird that what started out as a Star Trek parody ended up becoming the best Star Trek show.

Love this show! Really dropped its comedy after a few seasons, and very much in season 2. Can't wait! Star Trek has been abysmal lately but Stra ge New World's, while not perfect, is off to a good start. I wish it had been Discovery back in 2017

Tried the first season and couldn't get into it. Maybe I'll try again because of the hype. Love Anne Winters though, so that's a push in that direction.

Almost forgot this was still happening, hope it succeeds on Hulu. However they can't take as long as they did for the third season with more episodes.

This show had some really funny and smart writings. I'll definitely give this a go. Hope it doesn't start to take itself too serious though
