SAFER AT HOME Star Emma Lahana Reveals What Was Planned For Mayhem In CLOAK & DAGGER Season 3 - EXCLUSIVE

Cloak & Dagger was cancelled as a result of Marvel Television being replaced by Marvel Studios, and star Emma Lahana (Brigid O'Reilly) has now shed some light on what the plan was for a third season...

Emma Lahana's latest movie is Safer at Home, a tense thriller which is set two years into the pandemic, and follows a group of friends who throw an online party with a night of games, drinking and drugs. After taking an ecstasy pill, things go terribly wrong and the safety of their home becomes more terrifying than the raging chaos outside. It's now available in select theaters, VOD & Digital.

Of course, many of you will remember Emma for her standout role in Marvel Television's Cloak & Dagger as Brigid O'Reilly/Mayhem. The two distinct personalities eventually merged, but the show's premature end meant fans never got to find out where the character's story went from there.

Well, when we recently caught up with the actress, we asked whether she was ever clued into where things were supposed to go for Brigid in a possible third season.

"Yes, I did! I know a little bit of what was in store, and it was such a bummer as it felt like a premature ending for all of us," Emma responded. "If you’re familiar with the character Mina Hess, played by Ally Maki, our characters were going to end up being in a relationship. She goes missing in the final episode, so the third season was going to be about finding her and then this relationship that develops between Brigid/Mayhem and Mina. I was really bummed because it was so great working with Ally, and we didn’t get to do that much together. We were really looking forward to exploring that!"

Those of you who caught Emma in Cloak & Dagger will no doubt agree that she seems like a natural fit for a major superhero movie or TV show role down the line. However, when we asked if that's on her radar, the actress admitted that she's not sure whether a blockbuster like that would be of interest.

"It’s funny, because I do love watching big superhero movies, but I think the reason I really liked the Marvel TV Universe was because things were a lot darker and story/character driven," she explains. "I really appreciated that, but I love watching the big action movies. I love Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman [Laughs]. She’s so rad. I don’t know, I think I prefer things that are a little darker, and I think as you get older, it’s like, ‘Oh, my body...I don’t know if I want to keep doing the stunt training and everything.’ It’s so intensive! I guess we’ll see. I’m just always so happy and grateful to be working, so I’m open to whatever comes along."

Emma is definitely a talent to keep an eye on, and a scene stealer in Safer at Home. Keep checking back here, as we'll share the full interview soon!

Do everybody feel like the every action/superhero movie is all action and can't be character driven or have character development? Also. Darker doesn't equate to better stories but whatever.

I have never tried to watch cloak and dagger but I'll give it a shot soon

That 3rd season to close it out would've been nice. I enjoyed what the show brought to light. i hope we can get Cloak and Dagger in the larger MCU someday.

Shame it got axed. The two leads were pretty solid.

Really would've liked a final season to wrap things up. The writing was really solid, the leads had good chemistry, and the setting and themes were unique enough to make the show stand out.

Saw this, Runaways and Helstrom are on D+ now, but I'm still on the fence about watching them (I did already see Runaways season 1 though).

Sucks that this got a premature ending, especially for Lahana and the folks working on it.

@bkmeijer - Cloak & Dagger do get a little bit of a wrap-up in their crossover episode in season 3 of Runaways. It gives you a good idea of where they're at and where they're headed after the events of their own show.

@TheNZNatural - ohh there's a cross-over? That makes things even more interesting. Especially if there is some wrap-up

@TheNZNatural - That crossover was nice but definitely left me wanting more C&D. A shame it appears to be at an end, but one can hope that it resurfaces.

@bkmeijer - yeah, like @Mugens said, it also kinda leaves you wanting more cos it gives you a good idea and feel of where they were headed if they were to get a third season . . . and it sure looked exactly like what you'd want from C&D. So it's a tad bittersweet - I guess it comes down to how you choose to look at it, ya know?

@TheNZNatural - well atleast for when I decide to watch I don't have to have high expectations for the ending, so it won't turn into disappointment, is what I take from this
