After a long and tenuous courtship with FX, the live-action Powers television series has landed at Sony and will be streamed via the Playstation Network. Based on the graphic novel from Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming, the hour long superhero drama will follow Detective Christian Walker, who's charged with protecting ordinary people from the metahuman element waging battles high in the skies above.
The FX series entered development back in 2009, cast a number of roles and even filmed TWO pilot episodes. However, it's unclear at this time whether an entirely new cast will be brought in. Originally, actor Jason Patric was cast as the series lead, Christian Walker.
The Playstation Network series' first season will run for 10 episodes.
Bendis will executive produce, alongside Oeming, Charlie Huston (Sons of Anarchy), Michael Dinner, David Engel, David Alpert and Lawrence Mattis. Guiding the show on a day-to-day basis will be Bendis and Huston.
