Now we've reached the halfway point in Ahsoka, there are plenty of fans who have started to express concerns about Grand Admiral Thrawn's continued absence from the show. We're expecting Tuesday's effort to revolve around Anakin Skywalker's recent return, so where does that leave the blue-skinned Imperial and Ezra Bridger?
Both characters have been mentioned plenty of times, but there are now only four episodes left to put the spotlight on his live-action debut. Still, with Morgan Elsbeth successfully taking the Eye of Sion into that neighbouring Galaxy, it feels like we're incredibly close to learning what became of them.
They both vanished at the end of Star Wars Rebels after being pulled into hyperspace by the Purrgil, and a new rumour sheds some light on what came next.
According to one reliable scooper (via SFFGazette.com), we'll learn that "Thrawn is using [Nightsisters] and an army of zombie [Stormtroopers] in the other galaxy to find a way back. Thrawn has a henchman named Enoch with a golden mask."
"Ezra is not with him they split ways a long time ago and Ezra developed a new Force power. A Force Karate. The season ends with Thrawn winning. He's back in the main Star Wars galaxy and is ready to take over."
This matches what we heard several months ago, albeit with a handful of additional details. The Nightsisters hailing from another Galaxy is intriguing, though this obviously explains Elsbeth's comments that she could hear Thrawn calling to her (likely with the help of their magic).
Where things get especially interesting, though, is with the mention that "they are teasing an even greater threat that will come soon. Greater than Thrawn."
We've all assumed Supreme Leader Snoke was a failed Emperor Palpatine clone, but what if the villain actually hailed from another Galaxy and simply had his mind taken over by Darth Sidious?
@MyTimeToShineH (a trusted source, albeit one we'd advise against implicitly trusting) has seemingly been teasing Palpatine's return and we're still waiting on an origin story for the First Order, so something tells us the dots will soon start connecting, particularly with Dave Filoni's Star Wars movie on the way...
Set after the fall of the Empire, Ahsoka follows the former Jedi Knight Ahsoka Tano as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy.
In addition to Rosario Dawson in the title role, the series stars Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla, the late Ray Stevenson as Baylan Skoll, Ivanna Sakhno as Shin Hati, Diana Lee Inosanto as Morgan Elsbeth, David Tennant as Huyang, Lars Mikkelsen as Grand Admiral Thrawn, and Eman Esfandi appearing as Ezra Bridger.
Ahsoka was written by Dave Filoni, who executive produces alongside Jon Favreau, Kathleen Kennedy, Colin Wilson, and Carrie Beck. Directors include Filoni, Steph Green, Peter Ramsey, Jennifer Getzinger, Geeta Vasant Patel, and Rick Famuyiwa.
The first four episodes of Ahsoka are now streaming on Disney+.
