Principal photography on V for Vendetta ended last week and director John McTeigue's vision of Alan Moore and David Lloyd’s graphic novel heads for post-production.

One of the film's final shots was a re-creation of the hanging of would-be royal assassin Guy Fawkes in London. The Wachowski Brothers film stars Hugo Weaving and Natalie Portman.

"Immediately prior to the filming of the hanging of Fawkes, the production took over central London, on Whitehall, between Trafalgar Square and Big Ben for three nights, between midnight and 5:00 am. The scenes filmed at the location, very close to the House of Parliament, involved tanks and military forces, and, according to those who were on the set, were decidedly eerie in a post 9/11 world. The movie’s military forces, were facing down a mob dressed in traditional Guy Fawkes garb and masks," according to Newsarama.

However, critics and Moore himself have hit the film for failing to keep true to the comic book. The scene with a mob dressed in Fawkes’ masks, for example, doesn't appear in the book.

The film opens Nov. 4.
