Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, on behalf of DC Comics, has announced Batman: The Brave and the Bold the Videogame, an action-adventure videogame based on the popular animated series, will be available this Autumn for Wii and Nintendo DS. In the game, fans play alongside Batman and many of his allies in the DC UNIVERSE to take on dozens of popular villains.

Batman: The Brave and the Bold the Videogame fully immerses fans into the vivid animated world of the successful TV series where kids can play as Batman or together with family and friends in two-player co-op mode. Players can choose from iconic characters ROBIN, GREEN LANTERN, BLUE BEETLE, along with drop-in heroes such as AQUAMAN to help solve puzzles and fight foes.

The game provides maximum replay value to those who own both the Wii and Nintendo DS versions by allowing them to connect the two systems to unlock BAT-MITE as a playable character. Players can control him with the Nintendo DS to wreak havoc or fight alongside the main characters in all levels of the Wii videogame.

“Batman: The Brave and the Bold the Videogame further illustrates the diverse appeal of the Batman brand and the gameplay is a fun, vibrant extension of the animated series,” said Samantha Ryan, Senior Vice President of Development and Production, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. “The game’s co-op play offers kids, families and Batman fans an interactive way of experiencing the cartoon’s iconic characters.”

In Batman: The Brave and the Bold the Videogame, players embark on an exciting journey through crime-filled alleys, alien planets, abandoned underground cities and mysterious laboratories. Further lending to the authentic cartoon feel of the game is the inclusion of Batman’s iconic gadgets such as Batarangs and his Grapnel Gun.

Deadpool72 - I'm with you! The show isn't just crap, it's a step in completely the wrong direction for comic related animation. I'm all for shows to bring in the younger generation but this is aimed at the same audience as Ben 10 and the last Batman cartoon. There's no excuse for dumbing this down the way they have.

The more Brave And The Bold stuff they push out only results in more evidence of it's existence in need of burning.

I will really have to disagree on the hating for this show. First off, its on Cartoon Network, the same channel that shows Chowder (I have to small boys). Its not going to be a true to form Batman. True to form would be way to dark for CN and kids. If you want true to form go rent Dark Knight or wait for the Red Hood series. This is for kids so let it be for the kids. Heck it's gotten my oldest son wanting to read batman comics more. So as to dumbing it down...again its for younger viewers.

sigmax - I hear what your saying but this is the same channel that showed the last animated incarnation of Batman which was darker but still enjoyable for kids (I have 2 myself). I don't expect a truely dark Batman from CN but I have no idea why they decided to head down this path when 'The Batman' already had the same target audience captivated along with older fans.

@orod510@ there isnt an official release date out on Arkham Asylum 2 yet. for all we know it could be coming coming out in January of next year or even later. plus dont forget the first one got delayed for months.

@Grif@ how is this an Arkham Asylum follow up? there are teammates in it. its a completely different setting. thats kind of an assinine statement.

Ron - I think they dumb or tone it down for parents like me. I have a 7 and a 4 year old and I try to monitor what they watch. I don't let them see a lot of the darker stuff. I like seeing them watch Brave & Bold and seeing them laugh and giggle at some of it. Reminds me of when we watched the live action Batman as kids (same bat time same bat channel). Was that cheesey, yeah but back in the day it was the bomb and it was light. Again this is a kids show, in my opinion if someone wants the darker stuff rent it or buy it or stay up later to watch it on adult swim.

re: the show....

I LOVED the characterizatons of Wildcat and Aquaman. Did they have Hawkman on it? I missed that ep...rrrgh.Like I said, I can never find it on when I can watch. It's a fun show, take it for what it is, or don't watch it.

I'm sure I'll get shot up for this, but I could really care less about Bats, it's the 'lesser knowns' that I love to see get some screen time.......

i loved batman tas, and the batman. both were fantastic cartoons. batman brave and the bold is just something different, and i dont mind it. ive only seen it acouple of times and sure i like the others more. but sigmax makes a good point. there isnt anything wrong with mixing in one for the kids. we have plenty of dark batman flooding us with the video games, old cartoons, movies, comics, and every dc animated movie that comes out. so i dont have a problem with it. unless they made it into a real live action movie. then wed have a problem. but i know if i was still a kid or had kids, id probably be watching this all the time

Brave and the Bold is one of only two shows (Wolverine and the X-Men is the other) that I actually look forward to watching (outside of football season). No, it's not TAS, but it's damn sure better than "the batman" (I hated everything about that one), and it's reflective of the many different ways that Batman has been portrayed over the years. B&B is a fun and well-written show that works on different levels so all ages can enjoy it. I also love seeing all the obscure villains they show, and some of the other heroes. They even found a way to make Aquaman interesting and likable!

BubbaDude: I do agree with your point about showing more of the lesser-known heroes, but we have to face facts: kids like Batman, Spider-man, and Wolverine, so that's who we're going to see getting these shows. As for finding the show, do you have DirecTV? It runs on 296 at 6:30pm cst Fridays, and on 297 at 9:30pm cst Fridays. A lot of them also show up on YouTube if you miss one. Good luck finding the ep's you've missed! :o)

My son and I watch this show religiously. I think it's fantastic, and I'm a life long Batman reader/collector. I think it's fantastic that it actually delves into the larger DC universe and introduces kids to characters like The Blue Beetle, Guy Gardner, Fire, Ice, Shazam, Green Arrow, and of course Plastic Man. In fact the light comedy element of the show even makes characters I can not stand (i.e. Aquaman who is HILARIOUS on this show) pallateable.

Comicbookguy@ I know we have to get the Big Ones, what I meant was I love the B&B premise, like the original books, is Batty teaming up with other, lesser known, heroes.

Yeah, I got on CNs website, found out when it's on. Funny, they show HOURS of Teen Titans, and that Super Squad show, just about every day. B&B must not be doin too hot in the ratings....
