Warner Bros. has set a March 16, 2018 release date for the Tomb Raider reboot, which will focus on the early adventures of a young Lara Croft.

Back in April we found out that Academy Award-winner Alicia Vikander (Ex Machina, The Danish Girl) had nabbed the highly coveted lead role, though reports at the time indicated that Star Wars: The Force Awakens actress Daisy Ridley and Suicide Squad's Cara Delevigne were also in the running.

Norwegian filmmaker Roar Uthaug will helm the new Tomb Raider movie, which will loosely follow the plot of Square Enix 2013 version of the game.

@Shanksman - I hope the whole film is just an adaptation of the reboot. That game was amazing.

@Shanksman - you cant in in some aspects. A woman should be proud of her body. In my opinion, if she gets [frick]ING RIPPED, she should want to show that off in the most tasteful way possible. Show off that hard work you put in the gym. But then some folks will CRY:

That's just me.

Hollywood needs to give up on video game movies. They're all shit.

@blackandyellow - Well, regarding CBM's, we're good now comparing to the late 90's... There's hope.

@blackandyellow - The same can be said about comic book movies...but look at where we are now.
If Hollywood would just stay true to the source material and not give us some Legend of Chun-Li crap, it'd be a whole different story.

Sometimes they get it right.

I remember sitting in a theater with a bunch of Marines in Okinawa, Japan. When that song started and the New Line Cinema logo came on, everyone went crazy.

It would be cool if they based it on the 2013 reboot.

MARCH 16, 2018. I'll see it. I'll totally have money by then. It's not like there's a FOX/Marvel movie that's probably going to be the Deadpool sequel coming out two weeks before. Or like if Wreck-it Ralph 2 will be out a week before. Of if Flash is coming out that same [frick]ing day.

Yeah, I'll probably have to watch this online.
