When Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League's first season officially launches on March 28th, new skins, weaponry, and other features will be introduced.
At least three more seasons are planned by Rocksteady Games, with a new playable character added to the game with each new season.
However, the Joker, who will be the first DLC character released in season 1, is not the Joker from Rocksteady's earlier Batman video games.
As you may remember, Kill the Justice League takes place in the Arkhamverse, but the Joker has been dead for a while. Enter this other, younger version of the Clown Prince of Crime, who had just begun his criminal career at the time of Brainiac's attack.
Although the series has undoubtedly struggled since its release, this is a common tale for live service games. These games usually start off poorly, with little end game content to keep players invested, but the developers keep working on new features and eventually make changes that win over the player base (see Destiny 2).
However, considering the unfavorable opinions expressed by professional publications and gamers, Rocksteady might be too far behind the eight ball.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League was released on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S on February 2, 2024.
