JACK REACHER Actor Josh Helman Joins The Cast Of X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST

Australian actor Josh Helman (Jack Reacher, The Pacific) has joined the cast of X-Men: Days of Future Past in an undisclosed role. However, it's thought that his part will be "significant". Does the Bryan Singer helmed movie finally have its Cyclops?

The Wrap has revealed that Josh Helman has joined the cast of Bryan Singer's X-Men: Days of Future Past. However, the Australian actor's role in the movie is being kept under wraps, but "may prove significant given that the actor is expected on set for several weeks." Similar to THOR star Chris Hemsworth, Helman found fame in Home and Away before landing a role in HBO's The Pacific and big screen productions such as Jack Reacher and the upcoming Mad Max: Fury Road. The X-Men universe is huge and there are countless possibilities as to who he could be playing. Personally, he sort of reminds me of a younger James Marsden. Could Cyclops - one of my favourite comic book characters - finally be about to get the big screen attention he deserves? Be sure to sound off with your thoughts and theories on this latest casting addition in the usual place!

James Marsden and Bryan Singer have a great relationship and Days of Future Past has been shooting for how many months now? I can't imagine anything keeping the Cyclops actor so busy that they would recast the role.

Who cares about Cyclops, just cant take that character seriously at all, seems like one of those characters who spends the majority of the time moaning whilst the team does the real work, this has been the impression i've got from the movies and tv shows.

Why would Cyclops part in the film be important? The franchise treats him like crap.

This movie is just one big hot mess! Man I am not sure if this movie is going to be worse than TASM 2!

The question is, who makes films flying from the seat of their pants most? Brian Singer or Mark Webb? I'd say its neck in neck.

I had high hopes for a new Singer-directed X-men movie, but this production really worries me. First we had the whole "Marvel can't have Quicksilver! Only we can have Quicksilver! Quick, Singer! Write him into DOFP!" dick-move from Singer and FOX. Now every few weeks they're adding more and more mutants to the movie, despite the fact that the movie has been shooting for nearly two months. This, to me, is a sign that they don't have a plan. They're just throwing more and more characters into the film. Bad move, FOX.

I doubt he's young Cyclops. He has the same age as James Marsden back in year 2000.

If they wanted a young Cyclops, they could have used the same actor as Origins, even if on the 70's Scott would be a kid.

Way too many characters in this movie. I'm worried.

With the huge amount of casts this movie needs to make a lot of money or else it would massively flop.

Too old for teenage Cyclops.
He reminds more Singer than Marsden, also Marsden will have cameo in this one.
IMO Helman will play a soldier.

@santoanderson
Quicksilver was in Singer's First Class script, cut out when they decide for 60's. Singer had Pietro in DOFP script last year, so that wasn't shit move this year. It would be surprise to see Pietro next year in cinema, but Singer had to say Quicksilver is in DOFP, when Whedon started talking about twins in Avengers2.

Would this many actors sign on to a film knowing it would be bad?

Would Fassbender, today, sign up to be in this film?

The actors in this film would not sign up if the script wasn't great.

Yeah, you're right, I gotta give it to Singer on that one. And I bet there will be no costumes in DOFP either. B*stard.

I dont understand why Cyke has so many damn fans up here... He has only just gotten good since the Phoenix Force saga. He's "dead" in the movies and is not needed in this one. Patrick Stewart shouldn't even be in this one. Unless Prof. X is mind fukcin everyone to seeing him look like that.

They should have severely downsized the cast.

I want to see Liev Schreiber's Sabertooth again, he was the only good thing about Origins.

An X-Men film with Schreiber, Fassbender, and Jackman *could* have serious potential, given the right script and direction.

There're more chracters in The Dark World than in DOFP at this moment, so stay cool people.

@Darthking- I bet it's Wolverine. In the comics it was Kitty. All the X-movies are just "Wolverine and his Super Friends"

So let me get this straight, they're gonna have a 27 year old play a younger Cyclops showing up in the 60's which would make him about 62 when the 1st X-men movie came out. Okay??! Great way to fix the continuity.

Oh wait! I know. You'll have a younger Cyclops playing in the future by 10-20 years making Cyclops grow younger as time goes on. Right?

Stupid freaking Singer hack!

Who gives a shit? X-Men movies aren't interesting anymore. Yes it's true.

Singer for director won't make this film great. Wasn't Singer the one who directed Superman Returns and didnt take Joss's advice for X-Men? Now Joss is the director for Avengers, which is better than all X-Men films, and Snyder brought Superman back from the grave that Singer put him in with Man of Steel.

I have more confidence in The Unaborted Spider-Douche 2 than Wolverine & His Bitches: Days of Future Past.
LEVITIKUZ
LEVITIKUZ - 6/25/2013, 1:59 PM
I think its more in terms of writing, Whedon is the best.

In terms of the look and action, Snyder's better.

In terms of who's more likely to [frick] up a CBM, Singer wins.

Fair to say we all can agree on this.
