John Bryne Wasn't Asked To Cameo In DAYS OF FUTURE PAST, But Didn't Want To Anyway
John Bryne is the co-writer and artist for Days of Future Past, the basis for FOX's upcoming X-flick, and while Chris Claremont and Len Wein got to cameo in the movie, Bryne didn't. Why? He didn't really want to because he hates the films...
Chris Claremont, the writer of the 1981 X-Men storyline 'Days of Future Past,' and Len Wein, co-creator of Wolverine along with Roy Thomas and John Romita, Sr., are both making a cameo appearance in Fox's latest X-Men film. But John Bryne, the artist and co-writer of Days of Future Past, will not cameo. He was asked if he was invited to make a cameo, to which he simply replied "Nope." He was then asked if he would have accepted the invitation if he were asked. "Nope!" He further elaborates, saying "Given how much I've haaaaaaaaated what the movies have done with the X-Men, being offered a 'cameo' would feel a lot like the prom scene in CARRIE." He is often left out when everyone credits Chris Claremont as the writer for the story, as he feels that they both should be given equal credit. "A friend informs me that the Wykeepeedya, in its ongoing efforts to get everything wrong, lists Chris, and only Chris, as the 'writer' of the original story." What do you think? Sound off below.
