Channing Tatum Will Play GAMBIT In Spin-Off After X-MEN: APOCALYPSE Introduction

When X-Men: Days of Future Past producer Lauren Shuler Donner confirmed that Channing Tatum will indeed play Gambit, it was still very much up in the air as to when it would actually happen. After all, how long has Ryan Reynolds been attached to the Deadpool spin-off? Well, according to The Hollywood Reporter, "Multiple sources say that Tatum will get a stand-alone spinoff, with his version of Gambit being introduced in X-Men: Apocalypse. The stand-alone film is still in development, however, and no director has been attached." The deal has presumably closed then, and the character's connections to Apocalypse - he was one of the Four Horsemen for a time - will likely be explored in that movie which is supposed to be directed by Bryan Singer. Tatum has risen to popularity after roles in movies like 21 Jump Street, Magic Mike and White House Down, and his take on Gambit should be interesting to say the least! What do you think?

This is why Fox are losing. Give Gambit and Deadpool a solo flick each. Don't bother with introducing them in a massive film where they will probably get 3 minutes of screen time.

Stupid.

I have yet to see a Channing Tatum film that I have felt he is strong enough lead material to carry a film. Females may disagree with that and I am sure that is the angle they are going with in casting him. I understand now why they cast Tatum being they are going to go the solo spin-off route, but I still don't care for the casting.

Deadpool is lame anyway. Gambit is a much better character, but this will be bad more than likely. FOX has still yet to put out a film that is better than just average.

You want a Deadpool movie to get made? Cast someone other than Ryan Reynolds. At this point, I think he has more movies on the shelf than ready to shoot. Remember the Highlander remake?

Bottom line -

Fox doesn't care about the characters, they only care about the pretty face that can carry a money-making franchise.

I'm suprised they haven't announced a Mystique spin-off with Jennifer Lawrence.

Get rid of Simon Kinberg, Lauren Shuler-Donner and Bryan Singer (and any leftover Tom Rothman cronies) and this franchise might have a chance.
