When X-Men: Days of Future Past producer Lauren Shuler Donner confirmed that Channing Tatum will indeed play Gambit, it was still very much up in the air as to when it would actually happen. After all, how long has Ryan Reynolds been attached to the Deadpool spin-off? Well, according to The Hollywood Reporter, "Multiple sources say that Tatum will get a stand-alone spinoff, with his version of Gambit being introduced in X-Men: Apocalypse. The stand-alone film is still in development, however, and no director has been attached." The deal has presumably closed then, and the character's connections to Apocalypse - he was one of the Four Horsemen for a time - will likely be explored in that movie which is supposed to be directed by Bryan Singer. Tatum has risen to popularity after roles in movies like 21 Jump Street, Magic Mike and White House Down, and his take on Gambit should be interesting to say the least! What do you think?
