Shia LaBeouf Updates Status On Indiana Jones 5!

The actor who portrayed Mutt Williams in the last Indiana Jones film updates on the status surrounding the fifth installment, saying it shouldn't be long before it's released...

In a recent interview with MTV, Shia LaBeouf - who played Mutt Williams, son of Indiana Jones, in 2008's Indiana Jones & The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull - talks again about work on the project, saying that Harrison Ford is still preparing in the gym, while George Lucas still has yet to choose a particular story line.

"I talked to [Harrison Ford]," LaBeouf told MTV News when we got together with him at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards this past weekend. "He said he's staying in the gym, he said he's heard no word, but he does know that [George Lucas] is out there looking for a MacGuffin. He said he's staying in the gym, so it means [the movie is] not so far off."

But even if a fifth Indiana Jones isn't "so far off," it sounds as though series mastermind George Lucas has yet to nail down a specific story line. Shia isn't losing patience quite yet, however: "I mean, he's got to let it sit. He's going through his ruminations, which is extensive."

Indiana Jones 5 currently has no release date.

@jjmeylar FINALLY, someone else who doesn't hate it.
I personally enjoyed it, although it's not near as good as the other movies.

And let me just interrupt this line of Indi 4 likers by saying it sucked harder than a vacume on crack.

Still gonna watch af 5th instalment though, lets just hope it doesn't involve aliens or nuked fridges.

the fifth one was terrible. Lucas needs to sit back as a producer only and stop writing or coming up with the ideas for his movies and let someone else do it.

also, please dump Shia, worst character ever in an Indiana Jones movie. if we want annoying sidekicks bring back Short Round over this guy.

@ intruder

it'll probably be a simple search, taking his age into consideration.

indiana jones 5 & the search for the missing pension book.

@ n

you should at least watch the first film.

raiders of the lost ark (classic)
indiana jones & temple of doom (very good)
indiana jones & the last crusade (good)
indiana jones & the crystal skull (piss poor)

I liked the 5th film as well......minus the vine swinging scene! Never really understood all the hate it got. I guess a lot of people were upset with how sci-fi Lucas went. I do agree that it is time for Ford to hang it up and pass the reigns to Shia. He's actually quite decent in action scenes and has the charisma and chops to carry a film.

I would've actually preferred it if they would've passed the reigns in the last film, then had Ford tag along with (a la Sean Connery) in this one...

Four wasn't nearly as bad as everyone says it is. I'm sick of everyone giving Temple of Doom a pass. It is by far the worst in the series.

@Intruder

Lmao, well thanks for being pleasant about it. I'm aware you would like to burn LaBeouf with the fire of ten million stars, so i know that was tough ;)

I do see the somewhat douchey part of him that bothers others, it just doesn't seem to bother me. It may be due to his performance in A Guide To Recognizing Your Saints in which he and Channing Tatum both turned in their best performances to date, because I can't seem to hate him either (however, I am all too aware of how horrible an actor Tatum has become).

Eh, to each his own...

Tatum and LeBeef showed a ton of promise in A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints and then a whole lot of nothing afterwards
