A new batch of promo art for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has been revealed, and it includes fresh shots of the Scarlet Witch, Gargantos, Doctor Strange and Wong, and a whole lot more...

The first trailer for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was released last month, and more merchandise for Sam Raimi's movie is starting to be conjured up on online stores. Now, we have fresh promo shots of the sequel's four leads and the monstrous Gargantos.

We still don't know whether that monster is a minor threat for Doctor Strange before he faces Shuma-Gorath or a combination of both villains; there have been some suggestions online that the "Shuma-Gorath" name is actually owned by Conan the Barbarian creator Robert E. Howard's estate. If that's accurate, then it's feasible the Marvel villain has been renamed Gargantos.

Regardless, there are also some great shots here of Doctor Strange, Wong, the Scarlet Witch, and America Chavez, but nothing of Rachel McAdams as a character many have assumed to be Clea.

Like Spider-Man: No Way Home, the first wave of merchandise for the Doctor Strange sequel is likely to be mostly spoiler-free, with later t-shirts possibly featuring some of the movie's surprises. With a seemingly endless list of cameos rumoured, you might want to start saving your money now!

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is set to be released on May 6.

They really only have one promotional image of America Chavez I see.

Anyway, I hope the inclusion of Gargantos means we're gonna get some of the Elder Gods too somewhere down the line. Perfect enemies for Strange, Wanda and co.

@Frshcoupe - Yeah, what the hell is up with this Gargantos b.s.? That is Shuma Gorath… put some respect on his name! Anyone who played the old Marvel Capcom games knows this.

@Fogs - oh ok
but then why its ok for the comics to use it?

@Superheromoviefan - different licensing. By that logic Marvel couldn't have X-men comics since 2000.

The fact that Marvel has two villains who are giant, green monsters with a big eye and tentacles that are completely different characters lol

@KWilly - one of the advantages of having thousands of characters I guess hahaha

@KWilly - Well, gargantos kind of looks like just an octopus, which makes him quite different to Shummy boy.

Gargantos? I understand Disney's marketing team probably told them "Shuma-Gorath is a complicated name for children to ask their parents for the action figure", but [frick]-off.

@TheHumanSpider2 - the article mentions marvel probably doesn't have the rights to use the name shuma gorath

@cyclopsprime - But who does? Sony doesnt, and they already own Fox.

Wanda is definitely the real villain of this film, right? No way she's just there to "help."

This movie will be the next billion, for marvel anyway, the real next billion might be the Batman

The promotional art looks pretty cool. I'm really digging how Wanda's costume is becoming more and more comic-accurate.

I love that they got Sam Raimi to direct the Marvel movie with the evil book.
