First 3 Episode Descriptions For 'BEWARE THE BATMAN'

Alfred on par with Batman? I don't like this. I do appreciate some attention to other member's of Batman's rogues gallery.

The animation style may be garbage. But I doubt the storytelling will be.

Don't count on it haters. Marvel have a lot of catching up to do in the animated and video game department.

Well, I for one am excited for this cartoon... Most people said the same things about The Batman, and that was a more-than solid show.

I'll give it a shot. Looks a little strange, but I remember thinking the same of The Batman on CW and it was good. Nothing will ever be like Batman TAS though, brilliant!

How is this the "early" years of Batman, but Alfred is too old and in need of a replacement?

Why do these companies try purposely to stay away from the established canon? Anyone remember they tried the exact same thing with "The Batman" when it first came out? NO ONE watched it and in season 3 they finally brought in known characters and known stories and arcs. And as always is the case; as soon as a show starts to deliver fan service; the seasons get fewer episodes and is eventually canceled. WTF?

"Young Justice" showed more respect to the modern version of Batman (and all the DC heroes for that matter) than ANY OTHER animated show has ever attempted to do. That's not a dig at "Batman: TAS" or "Justice League". I'm just saying that watching YJ felt like I was reading a current issue of Batman.

Why is it that the ONLY avenue a hardcore fan has is the comic book itself? When a new show is announced, I always listen for the tell-tell words/phrases (stand alone episodes, geared toward a younger audience, the fans have the comic books) that are clear indicators that the show is going to be crap ("Ultimate Spider-Man" anyone?) I never thought in a million years that WB (Can't really blame DC here) would stoop to Marvel animation lows but when they canceled "Green Lantern: TAS" and YJ I was like "WTF are they doing". They canceled those two shows because they were too serious and too continuity heavy? Wow.

Sorry for the rant, but I'm just pissed that we (true fans) can't get quality visual representations of quality comic books.

@askan: I couldn't agree more about YJ and GL. Two excellent series that were stolen from us much too soon.

Nibs, not to sound confrontational but what is it to you what anyone does? I'm assuming you'll watch the show, so will i as it goes. The same way i believe some one said they'll leave the show to you, leave them to their opinions. No-ones going to say "you're right, i shouldn't judge a show before it airs" so let them be.

FIRST OF ALL - I wasn't being confrontational so calm down. I voiced my opinion which is my right. If you weren't so keen on attacking someone, you would have UNDERSTOOD what I was saying. NEVER once did I say/write that "Beware The Batman" was dumbed down. I was speaking in general terms about companies changing characters into least common denominator versions of the source material.

How do you know GL TAS & YJ didn't sell toys? You work at WB? No, you read something someone said on the matter and took it for gospel (and that tells me a lot about you). Furthermore, the president of WB animation said the shows were too serious and that they wanted to go in the other direction when it comes to animation. Toys based on a show either sell or they don't. My point (again if you had actually read what I wrote) was that dumbing down a show (ANY superhero show) doesn't mean that the show will automatically sell toys but that seems to be what WB and Marvel tend to do nowadays. It's one of the main reasons why Bruce Timm left WB/DC.

I don't know if BTB will be good or not. All I can go on is my common sense based on what I've seen so far. I don't have a problem with 3D animation that others seem to. My concern is with story elements and from what I've seen so far - it's going to suck and be dumbed down IMO. And that's OK because its my frickin' opinion!! Get over yourself. NOW I've said it. Happy?

i tottally agree with grif here, Batman kidnapped... by magpie? are you [frick]ing kidding me? I hope this show is good but i have serious doubts. Please Netflix bring back YJ!!!
