Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania hit theaters on Friday, and those mixed/negative reviews don't seem to have put audiences off too much.
Though Marvel Studios' first Phase 5 release did come in under initial estimates, it managed to take in over $100 million ($104M 3-day, $118M 4-day) in North America, and is now sitting at $225.3M worldwide.
This is an Ant-Man franchise best, the biggest opening of 2023 so far (not that it's had much in the way of competition yet), and only the third February release ever to open to $100M+ behind Black Panther and Deadpool.
Not too shabby - but will Quantumania be able to maintain this level of success going forward? Only time will tell, but fans do seem to be responding a lot more positively than critics so far.
