While at Comic Con today, composer Brian Tyler spoke about how he will pay homage to films like Star Wars and the original Superman films while creating the soundtrack for Avengers: Age of Ultron. Hit the jump to check it out!
Today at the 'Musical Anatomy of a Superhero' panel at San Diego Comic-Con composer Brian Tyler talked abpout the score for Marvel’s upcoming Avengers: Age of Ultron. He said that he will try to pay homage to films like Raiders of the Lost Ark, Star Wars and Superman.
The music of those films “changed the game,” as Tyler said. "It’s the template for ‘The Avengers’ coming up." Tyler Bates, composer for Guardians of the Galaxy, gave his two cents and said that "Marvel’s vibe is more old school, more heroic. DC seems darker, post-apocalyptic.” In case you didn't know, Brian Tyler scored Iron Man 3 and Thor: The Dark World. Although he will pay homage to the Star Wars and Superman scores he assured that he will make attempts to reference the Marvel films that are already in place in order to create a similar musical universe. “That’s the goal for sure,” Tyler said. “You have to build in nostalgia and do it upfront so you can relate to it.”
Let's not mistaken Tyler for talking about Han Zimmer's score for Man Of Steel but he is talking about the original Superman film which was scored by John Williams. What do you think of this? Are you excited to see what Brian Tyler brings to the Age of Ultron? Sound off below!
