BOX OFFICE: AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR Breaks Marvel Record With Huge $39 Million In Thursday Previews

Avengers: Infinity War is already breaking records and after earning $39 million at the North American box office last night, you won't believe how much analysts think it will have made by Sunday...

Avengers: Infinity War has started rolling out across the world and in just two days, the movie has made a whopping $95 million. That an awesome start but even more impressive is the $39 million the Russo Brothers helmed release earned during Thursday evening screenings in North America.

That's the best number of any superhero movie ever topping previous record holder The Dark Knight ($30.6 million). In comparison, Black Panther made $25.2 million back in February. For now, though, Star Wars: The Force Awakens remains the record holder with $57 million, with The Last Jedi ($45 million) behind it and Harry Potter and The Deathly Hollows in third place with a solid $43.5 million.

Analysts remain convinced that Avengers: Infinity War will debut with upwards of $225 million this weekend, while current estimates point to it having made $500 million worldwide by Sunday.

Needless to say, the sky appears to be the limit for the Marvel movie and it's going to be interesting seeing just how high it goes by the time all is said and done. It's going to get fans talking, that's for sure, and demands repeat viewings. Have you checked it out yet? Share your thoughts below.

@HeavyMetal4Life - BEST.

COMIC BOOK.

MOVIE.

EVER.

And that ain't no hyperbole! I laughed my ass off, and even cried. The Russos are the Sorcerors Supreme of the cinematic world.

Hands down, best fecking comic book ever.

@HeavyMetal4Life - They’re surely phenomenal in their work, but let’s take it easy. To say so is to neglect the possibility of a given comic book movie being potentially better on its own merits from a given filmmaker. It’s like saying this is the best writer, actor, chef, car-driver, or garbage man of all time.

I’ve seen it twice. But I need more.

@TheUnworthyThor - One thing that amazed me is that for a 2-1/2 hour movie it flew by. Not once was I bored or felt that it dragged on too long. If anything it could have used a bit more in parts.

@MosquitoFarmer - The first time I saw It it felt long but in a good way, like there was so much to digest, but the second time it flew by and I couldn’t believe it when it was over.

@TheUnworthyThor - Got tix to see it again tonight with wifey, then again Sun with a bunch of friends...now i'm REALLY regretting not getting a MoviePass when they were letting you see (1) movie/day...

@Talontd - Wouldn’t of helped unfortunately since they just instituted that no repeating viewings rule for all their subscribers just in time for Infinity War.

@MosquitoFarmer - I agree. I honestly think the film would've benefitted a ton from being only about 15-20 min longer.

It definitely was too short to pack that much in there.

@L0RDbuckethead - I was surprised how vital the Guardians were to the plot, particularly after they were being touted as supporting characters - They played a bigger role than all of the core six Avengers other than Thor and Stark. Really it was the Earth-based crew that could have used more time. By the time they get to the Wakanda battle it felt somewhat rushed/abrupt.

L0RDbuckethead - 4/27/2018, 6:49 PM
@MosquitoFarmer - yeah but the Guardians are the Eartbound heroes' link to Space. And with Feige and crew wanting to go more cosmic, it would make sense for them to be main players to bridge the gap as they go more cosmic for Phase 4.

I'm in the theater right now about to see IW, wish me luck!

@L0RDbuckethead - Dammit, you enjoy! Their presence made absolute sense through and through, for one of the characters in particular; I was just not expecting them to be so important to the plot. Glad they were though, as I feel the Russo’s made the cross-introduction of the two groups very natural.

@MosquitoFarmer - Just got home from the film. It was really, really good. Still a lot to digest, but there were very few qualms I had with the film. I almost want to say I liked it better than The Winter Soldier.

I will post my full thoughts in the next article or one of the ones early tomorrow.

@L0RDbuckethead - I'm also hesitant to say I like it ore than The Winter Soldier. Need more time with the movie. If there is one complaint I can at least understand is that some people argue the movie doesn't have much of a plot. That's not quite true, but the storyline is pretty basic; especially for the group of heroes on Earth. I just posted this elsewhere, but by the time the Wakanda battle starts it almost feels abrupt.

Talontd - 4/28/2018, 7:26 AM
@TheUnworthyThor - Haha! Just saw that! Effectively kills the value for me. When I head to the theater, it's almost always for an IMAX show, so that's why I didn't pull the trigger earlier. Was only thinking about this for repeat viewings...

Also I have a question.. where the hell is that user who use to go by the name of CaptAmericaSux or something like that? He was the biggest Thor fanboy and always use to complain that Thor wasn’t the center of the MCU and how needed he was. Wonder if he would be proud after Ragnorok and now Infinity War

@XelCorp -

I used to bust his chops about Cap 2 all the time. He said Cap 2 would never do this or that before it was released and when it did he switched to Cap 2 had all these advantages to why it did better than Thor 2.

@XelCorp - The Russos and Waititi have definitely redeemed Thor. He truly felt like a God in Infinity War.
