"It's a commitment but I love being a part of it," Robert Downey Jr. told News Media Gallery yesterday of his extensive role as Iron Man in the recently-announced Captain America: Civil War as well as the two-part Avengers: Infinity War movies. "She (his wife Susan Downey) knows I get happy when I get to put on the beard and  go out and make faces with Chris Evans and listen to Kevin Feige get excited. She knows I am going to come back in a good mood," he added. During another interview while on the red carpet of the BAFTA Los Angeles Britannia Awards, Entertainment Tonight had asked Downey how many times will we have seen him play Tony Stark once his contract lets up. "You know, it may verge on double digits," he replied, "but it will probably wind up being a little shy." Counting his cameo in The Incredible Hulk, Downey will have portrayed Marvel's Armored Avenger nine times, and that's only if he appears in both Avengers: Infinity War Part One in 2018 and Part Two that following year. Anyhow, the ET interviewer had then expressed a desire to see Downey as Iron Man 15 or 20 times total, which caused both Robert and his wife to gasp, "Oh jeez," laughing. Later during the actual BAFTA awards ceremony, Robert Downey was given the Stanley Kubrick Britannia for excellence in film, and during his acceptance speech, he talked about retiring ("not that I have been idling until my Marvel contract runs out," he said) before giving a second little Marvel plug: "The season, you know is upon us," he said of the Academy Awards, "and I’m told it is unlikely I will be nominated – four years ahead of time for my absolutely stellar performance in Avengers: Infinity Wars Part I, but Bobby Duvall’s got a strong shot for this year’s The Judge." Anyhow, reporters also caught up with the Incredible Hulk/Bruce Banner actor Mark Ruffalo, who was also being honored at the Britannia awards, as well as Avengers: Age of Ultron executive producer Jon Favreau. @Doopie

It's not what people make it out to be. It's not necessarily exceptional, littered with predictable plot points and elements, but none of the acting is lacking.

The Judge while it has its problems, is my favorite film of the year so far. Saw it right after Gone Girl (a clearly far superior made film) and will see Nightcrawler hopefully tomorrow. Won't be seeing Interstellar. I think it would be a damn shame if Downey didn't get nominated for best actor cause he gave a performance that would be among the career defining performances of any actor. He is so phenomenal in this film.

I feel all the original actors should go until Infinity War Pt 2 then give us fresh faces starting with the (hopefully) inevitable Phase 4. It's just hard to see any other actors in all these respected roles.

It's crazy just sitting and realizing that [frick]ing Daredevil, the MCU's most grittiest character thus far, exist in a universe with a talking tree and raccoon.

Speaking of Avengers Infinity War, is Joss Whedon going to direct Avengers Infinity War Part I and II?! I'd hate to see him leave and not continue direct the Avengers movies!

@MrCBM56

I'm probably hoping in vain, but I don't want to see any of these characters get recast. Use them to their full potential and then let them go. We have an ENTIRE UNIVERSE of players to choose from. Tony Stark, Steve Rogers and Thor are NOT James Bond.

After 2019-- besides sequels for Panther, Strange, Captain Marvel, Inhumans and GOTG, there aren't much new properties (I can think of atm) left. So far Moon Knight and Runaways come to mind.

They won't be doing Ghost Rider or Punisher on the big screen anytime soon.

The question is, can you recast someone like RDJr in the role of IM?
I don't think so. Marvel would have to kill his character off imo. People wontt except a new IM

I'm looking forward to Phase 3. It just seems so exciting and that a huge event is going to take place. I'm kind of a little sad that there's no announcement of Moon Knight or The Runaways, but we can't always get what we want.

So will Avengers Infinity War Part 1 & 2 be the two last movies of Marvel Studios?

he will be tough to replace.maybe marvel will do a time travel story where they bring him from the past,a younger version or an alternative earth iron man which again would be a different actor.
