Warning: the following contains some major SPOILERS regarding the ending of Iron Man 3. If you happened to have not seen that movie yet, and don't wan't to be spoiled beforehand, stop reading after the image.

Joss Whedon previously hinted at the inclusion of a "brother/sister act" in his highly anticipated sequel to Marvel's The Avengers, which led to speculation that mutant siblings Scarlet Witch (Wanda Maximoff) and Quicksilver (Pietro Maximoff) will be included in the follow-up to the most successful comic book movie of all time. Entertainment Weekly later confirmed this, and speaking with IGN, Whedon himself has stated that Magneto's children (their origins will likely be tweaked/changed for Avengers 2) are featured, and touches on how their roles in the sequel. "You know, they had a rough beginning. They’re interesting to me because they sort of represent the part of the world that wouldn’t necessarily agree with The Avengers. So they’re not there to make things easier. I’m not putting any characters in the movie that will make things easier."

Additionally, the acclaimed writer-director was asked about bringing back Tony Stark/Iron Man. The last time we saw this character was at the end of Iron Man 3, in which Robert Downey Jr.'s Armored Avenger destroyed all of his Iron Man suits, heavily hinting at a retirement for the character. However, with the actor in talks to reprise his role for two sequels to The Avengers, Whedon had this to say. "Well, I feel like in Iron Man 3, even though he said, ‘I’ve changed' -- he blew up his remote suits, but I don’t think anybody thinks he doesn’t have one anymore. The question is, if The Avengers are called, does he show up? And the answer is, ‘Yes!’" What do you think of Whedon's comments?

The Avengers 2 is scheduled to hit theaters May 1st, 2015.
