It’s difficult," Coogler acknowledged. "You’ve got to keep going when you lose loved ones. I know Chad wouldn’t have wanted us to stop.

What an insane burden to put on a dude. Superhero sequels are hard enough to get right without adding to that the absence of the guy who made the character an instant pop culture icon.

I'll sometimes shoot my mouth off about "they should do this" or "I hope they do that", but I'm basically at a loss here. Whatever Coogler does, I trust him to honor Boseman's legacy. And obviously he's such an emotionally mature dude to make the movies he's made, so maybe he can use this movie to help us all process this loss (and other more personal ones). I find it hard to imagine it won't be a major theme.

Not only does he as a director have to deliver a successful product for Marvel Studios, he has to also carry the weight of the film and the cast on his shoulders without the leading man. It must be so difficult to not only make a sequel without the star but also have to promote the film and go on press tours and constantly be reminded of the weight of the loss. I give Ryan Coogler a lot of credit.

This grief process for Chadwick and Black Panther are really unique circumstances for a filmmaker.

Then I think about that article Wilding wrote where he put Fisher-Borg on the same level as T'Challa. Like, c'mon.

Ryan's comments on how Chadwick was so supported of the group as a whole was definitely played out in one of his last movies, "21 Bridges" where he took money out of his own pocket/paycheck to help get the money his co-star Sienna Miller should have received upfront but didn't. Chadwick was a damn good actor but a helluva man off camera as well.

Everytime I hear something new about Boseman, it's always just reinforces the image I have of him. He really is an inspiration on all levels.

@bkmeijer - Yeah, reminds you that he was legitimately a good guy who really gave it his all.

@dragon316 - It's an actual interview with him about the death of his leading man. Feck you if you seriously think this is an April fool's joke!

I don’t envy the creatives behind this movie but one thing about Coogler is he isn’t out here doing a gang of projects at once. Once he starts to write something it seems like he puts a lot of care and thought into it and it shows in the finished product. Chad was a great man it’s just so hard to imagine this movie right now.

It’s such a daunting task thus could be a movie everyone loves because they just don’t want to associate hate with Chadwick’s death or everyone hates because they feel like they shouldn’t of kept going without the man. Again, I don’t envy them. I didn’t know Chadwick but I miss him I just feel like we lost an all time great person
