BLACK PANTHER: WAKANDA FOREVER - [Spoiler] Shares New Behind-The-Scenes Photos From The Set

Quite a lot of you will have seen Black Panther: Wakanda Forever at this stage, but just in case, here's your spoiler warning.

Though some of the plot details that found their way online prior to the movie's release did prove to be accurate, one surprise that remained under wraps was an appearance from Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus).

When Shuri (Letitia Wright) and Okoye (Danai Gurira) travel to the U.S. to ask Everett Ross (Martin Freeman) for help in locating Riri, we soon find out that the scheming Val is the CIA's new Director - and Ross' ex wife!

Now, the Seinfeld alum has taken to Instagram to share some behind-the-scenes photos from her time working on the Marvel Studios sequel.

Though Val initially appears to support Ross' efforts to avert conflict with Wakanda, it's later revealed that she's been monitoring his conversations with Queen Ramonda (Angela Bassett) all along and knows the Wakandans are hiding something (the existence of Namor and Talokan). It's strongly implied that Val wants to harness the power of Vibranium, and this might give us a pretty good idea of where things are heading.

We know Val will lead the Thunderbolts, and a recent rumor claimed that the upcoming movie will focus on the team going to war with Wakanda. Whether that happens obvioulsy renains to be seen, but Val's involvemnet and actions in Wakanda Forever does suggest that there will be some kind of crossover.

Have you been to see Black Panther: Wakanda Forever yet? If so, be sure to let us know what you thought of the movie in the comments section (you can check out our review here).

In Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Queen Ramonda (Angela Bassett), Shuri (Letitia Wright), M’Baku (Winston Duke), Okoye (Danai Gurira), and the Dora Milaje (including Florence Kasumba), fight to protect their nation from intervening world powers in the wake of King T’Challa’s death. As the Wakandans strive to embrace their next chapter, the heroes must band together with the help of War Dog Nakia (Lupita Nyong’o) and Everett Ross (Martin Freeman) and forge a new path for the kingdom of Wakanda. Introducing Tenoch Huerta as Namor, king of a hidden undersea nation, the film also stars Dominique Thorne, Michaela Coel, Mabel Cadena, and Alex Livanalli.

Riri’s dialogue left much to be desired but everything else was great. I loved that Shuri won even as Wakanda was losing. Attuma was a BA! Def Elaine’s best appearance by far, can’t wait to see her on Thunderbolts.

Duke.
Wright.
HUERTA.
BASSEEEEEETT!!!

She was phenomenal.

Per Variety:

Disney’s “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” will steamroll the box office again in its second weekend. The 30th installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe aims to add $72 million to $80 million between Friday and Sunday.

Ticket sales anywhere in that range — a decline of roughly 55% to 60% from its stellar $181 million opening — would be a promising result for “Black Panther 2.” Most pandemic-era releases haven’t been able to generate that kind of coinage in its first weekend, much less in subsequent outings.

By comparison, returns for 2018’s “Black Panther” — which opened to a blockbuster $202 million — declined just 44.7% in its second weekend with an exceptional $111 million.

More recent MCU entries like “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” “Thor: Love and Thunder” and “Spider-Man: No Way Home” each fell 67% in their second weekends."

@PeterDarker121 -

Wakanda forever is a failure dude. Stop using numbers and facts to fit your narrative.

Wakanda forever is a flop🤡

@AmazingFILMporg - A "flop" would indicate it doesn't or it barely breaks even, correct? With those projected numbers for this weekend it will have already broken even (the general rule is to break even you double the budget which in this case was a reported $250 mill). And that's only after 2 weekends, all the remaining weeks are just icing/gravy, pick your analogy.

@Hoot3 - You got the rule wrong. It's Production Budget PLUS P&A. The latter has been priced at $150M net, which makes the break even comparison figure a lot higher.

That said that number only looks at those things all movies have. But some movies for example have special tax breaks that lower costs. Those are not standardized thus and are left out of the comparison.

They really did. I would not have been surprised if Coogler wasn’t even on set for those scenes.

@AmazingFILMporg

I saw SMILE in theaters. Fun flick. Felt like e of a mashup of a mashup between It Follows and The Ring.
