Wakanda Forever!
Marvel Studios' Black Panther sequel began is global rollout this past Friday (earlier in some international locations), and while the movie is not expected to reach those initial $365 million estimates, it's still off to a very strong start at the box office.
Ryan Coogler's emotional MCU adventure currently sits at $330 million worldwide after taking in $180 million in North America and $150 million overseas.
This gives the film the second-highest opening of the year behind fellow MCU sequel, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. It also unseats 2013's The Hunger Games: Catching Fire for the biggest November debut of all time, and its $150M international haul gives it the 5th highest international opening weekend of the pandemic era.
The movie's domestic taking have already eclipsed the $151M Black Adam has amassed after four weeks in theaters.
Though reviews have been (mostly) positive, Wakanda Forever hasn't quite struck the same chord with critics as its Academy Award-nominated predecessor, and currently sits at 84% on Rotten Tomatoes.
