Anthony Mackie On The Minimal CG In CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER

"The Russos, what they did that was so great was, they wanted to stay with live action, which is a dying art form. If they can build it, they built it. If we could do it, we did it. They wanted to do as little CGI as possible. That's why the movie looks so great."

Captain America The Winter Soldier Anthony Mackie Falcoln

Captain America: The Winter Soldier's Falcon (Anthony Mackie)touts the directorial preference of the Russo brothers to film as much action as possible, something many action films are shying away from in this era of cg creations. Said Mackie, "The Russos, what they did that was so great was, they wanted to stay with live action, which is a dying art form," Mackie said. "If they can build it, they built it. If we could do it, we did it. They wanted to do as little CGI as possible. That's why the movie looks so great." In the video below, the actor talks about filming an action scene where he jumps out of an airplane, how Marvel's realized the importance of the Falcon and jokes that Marvel should replace Robert Downey Jr.'s Iron Man with his character in Avengers: Age of Ultron.

I am really hoping that he is in the Avengers 2. He is such a charismatic actor and funny as hell.

I think he deserves a spot in the Avengers. 2 or 3 I don't mind much.

If he isn't in Avengers 2, we better have a damn good reason why.

Plus, Avengers needs some diversity. FALCON FTW!!

Can't wait to see him in the role.

I'm all for practical effects as much as possible, I was a bit shocked when I heard they had reproduced New York's streets digitally for the Avengers.

I mean, they have a real live set in front of them ,and they have to create an identical one...

I don't know.... That scene in the Cap 2 footage where the Helicarrier goes down was a BIG CGI Fest, but everything else looks pretty real amd gritty though

Minimal CGI and No Iron Man. Should be good. Its a toss up between this and GOTG for my most anticipated movie next year. And after seeing RR on the leaked footage GOTG has me more excited at the moment.

@Mrcbm56

Yeah we need more diversity in the team. Nick Fury doesn't really count ppl, but no war machine, no falcon, and the stupid reason for not having do a Black Panther(kevin fiege said wakanda would be hard to translate into a movie but yet we now have Asgard and Cosmic space) would make it somewhat suspicious lol

Black Panther will come. Have faith.

My only concern is what African American actor has enough star power these days to really make a solo outing work?

Falcon in Avengers would be cool but out of all of the supporting characters from other films, I would prefer War Machine. Mostly because it looks like Ultron will be created by Stark.

TheWolverine08 - 8/14/2013, 2:02 PM
@Ragnaroknroll Frankly, I think Marvel should just get an African to play Black Panther. I'm an African guy and BP was one of my first favorite heroes, I hope people fall in love with him when he get's a movie. *Hold back fanboy tears*.

Falcon and War Machine for Avengers 2!!
Why would Avengers have Black Widow and Hawkeye and not invite Falcon and War Machine to the squad?

No War Machine or Falcon in Avengers. GTFO with that shit. Neither were part of the Avengers during the beginning. You want diversity? Black Panther! Black Panther or GTFO!

@omegadagod

Don't worry there is a few cgi scenes.... But I like practical effects, it brings back that old school action movies that I enjoyed, then the whole cartoon looking explosions that make you roll your eyes(ex: im3 and man of steel).

Hurry and bring us Black Panther in Avengers!!!
He was pretty badass on the earth's mightiest heroes show.
Ragnaroknroll
Ragnaroknroll - 8/14/2013, 2:21 PM
Wolvie's right - an African actor would be best. I just want the movie to do well when it finally comes and I can't think of any films with a black lead that has brought huge BO other than Will Smith.

If Marvel plays their cards right they could be this generation's Star Wars and then yes - what Remy says would probably be true.

I wish Djimon Hounsou was younger. I don't know if he would be a box office draw but I always pictured him in the role.

T'challa, the King of Dead will take audiences by storm when he hits movie theaters! Has anyone been reading Jonathan Hickman's New Avengers? Black Panther is a beast in there, and the comic itself is completely awesome.

Djimon Hounsou is already in GoTg so there goes him

Chadwick Boseman(from the movie 42) could work as Black Panther. He did a great job as jackie robinson and 42 did do great at the box offce, plus well recieved
